I sighed and stared out the window. It was 3:38 PM, in 7th period, on the last day of school at Golden Peak Academy. The last day of school before what, exactly? Why, summer vacation, of course! Only the best time of year for lonely high-schoolers like me! I drummed my clawed fingers on the desk, turning my head to look at the clock. 3:39… 30 seconds… 15…! I nearly jumped out of my seat, the tension was killing me! "3:40!" I screamed as the minute hand finally ticked ahead. Everybody in the class turned to stare at me, even the teacher. "Miss van Nyaow, I take it you have forgotten that this clock is a minute slow." Suddenly, all the children biting their nails, lips, and virtually any other thing possible whooped with immeasurable joy as the bell let out a loud RIIIIIIIING!
"However, now it is, in fact, 3:40. Go, go, have a good summer and the like." The teacher said, I grabbed my things and was ready to race out the door and enjoy another famous Mobian Summer. That is, until I realized my sister Luka was taker her sweet time packing up. "COME ON, Luka! I wanna get home and see Macaron! And swim!" Luka simply sighed and zipped her backpack up, which was also taking a nauseating amount of time. She sloooooooowly got out of her seat, and sloooooooowly walked over to me. She said "See you next year, Miss Bellmont." In her usual agonizingly quiet tone of voice. We walked out of the classroom together, as usual.
"You need to be more patient, Esmeralda." Luka said to me as we walked down the outdoor hallway that was the 300 ramp. "I need to be more patient?! You need to pick up the pace! I hissed at her as we reached the spacious outdoor lawn. Lines and lines of limos and buses were stationed to take the students home. I walked toward a silver-gray limo with "Van Nyaow" inscribed on the side. Luka followed, and we both got in the shiny car.
