I was watching "Fairly Odd Baby" one day, and as Wanda talked about how there really wasn't a need for new fairies, it occurred to me that if the human population grew and the fairy population didn't, there would be some problems. So, I decided to write a one-shot about it. I don't own Fairly Odd Parents.
Too Many Children
Jorgen Von Strangle leaned back in his chair and sighed. Fairy World was such a barren and empty place these days. Almost every building had been abandoned and was collecting layers of dust. All of the fairies were on Earth, taking care of their godchildren. Even fairies like Cupid and the Tooth Fairy had to take a godchild. Couples had to be split up, and some fairies even had to switch back and forth between godchildren.
A female fairy with short wispy red hair wearing rose pink bell-bottom pants, a dark red blouse, and dark red flats came back to fairy world at that moment. "My godchild grew up," she said.
"Good, your new assignment is Ayu from Tokyo, Japan," Jorgen told her. "Her mother is a psychopath and her father is in prison for life."
"I'm on it, Jorgen," said the fairy. She poofed off to find her new godchild.
Jorgen was the only one left in Fairy World. Someone had to stay behind to do the reassigning and regulate things and enforce Da Rules. It might as well be him. They desperately needed more fairies. That's what fairy babies were for, except he had stupidly put a ban on those. The human population kept reproducing, and the fairy population didn't. There were now way more miserable children on Earth than there were fairy godparents in Fairy World. He remembered the quote Wanda had said regarding fairy babies:
"Fairies live forever, so there's really no need to make more."
How wrong she had been! How wrong they had all been! Putting that ban on fairy babies was the stupidest thing he could've ever done! Now everyone had to pay the price. A lot of human children were not getting the fairy help they needed, and all of the fairies were horribly overworked. There was only one thing that could be done.
Jorgen turned on the worldwide speaker system that was only audible to fairy godparents. "Attention, fairies! The ban on fairy babies has officially been lifted! I repeat, fairy babies are no longer banned! Please reproduce!"
The fairies rejoiced. Many couples joined together and conceived at that same moment in time, but it still wouldn't be enough. It could be thousands of years before those fairy babies were old enough and trained enough to take care of godchildren. Thousands of godchildren that already had fairies would be ignored because their godparent would be too busy with their fairy baby. Meanwhile, the humans would reproduce more and more, until there was absolutely no hope. It felt like that time of hopelessness was right now. He wished he could have some help.
"It looks like you need some help," came the dull monotonous voice of H.P., the head pixie.
Jorgen turned around to see H.P. and his assistant, Sanderson. "I don't want your kind of help!" he snarled at them.
"But you need it," said Sanderson. "We see that there aren't enough fairy godparents around, but there are lots of pixies right at our disposal. All you need to do is sign this contract saying that we are the new rulers of Fairy World and get ultimate control."
"Never!" Jorgen yelled.
"Then we will have to make you," said H.P.
"Ha!" Jorgen laughed. "I would like to see you try!"
"Alright, but you asked for it." H.P. snapped his fingers, and ever living pixie entered the room and went after Jorgen. As strong as Jorgen was, he was all alone with no help from other fairies. He was overpowered by the excess of pixies.
"Now sign the contract," Sanderson said.
Jorgen had no choice. He signed the contract, and the pixies took indefinite control of Fairy World.
The End
