Travis stuffed his hands in his pockets as he walked down the road, accidentally bumping into a girl with a pound of makeup and dyed blond hair. "Oh, hi there," she grinned flirtatiously at him.
He glanced around, not even looking at her. "Hey."
"You lost?" she asked, staring up at him, smirking, through her mascara coated lashes.
"Nope."
She wasn't the least bit discouraged by his noncommittal answers at first. "So, where are you going then? Maybe it'll be in the same direction as where I'm heading off to?" She winked at him, but he didn't even notice.
"Doubt it."
He wouldn't stop looking around her, as though searching for someone or something. "What're you looking for?" she asked, confused by the fact that he wasn't paying any attention to her when she was wearing her new low cut shirt and short shorts. Surely anyone would pay attention to her, she convinced herself. Especially guys like him, with the looks to match hers… almost.
"Yeah, I'm looking for a girl with brown hair in a braid, green eyes, and freckles across her nose. Have you seen anyone like that?"
She was a bit surprised at his long answer, but took it as improvement, even though he was mentioning another girl. "Why don't you just forget about her and hang out with me instead?" she suggested, reaching out her hand to touch his arm.
He jerked back suddenly, so fast it was a blur. "Don't count on it."
Then, his blue eyes lit up as he noticed someone behind her. "Katie-Kat!" he called out, eyes beginning to sparkle with mischief and a troublemaker's smile spreading across his lips. "It's me!"
The girl looked up. She had vivid green eyes, light brown, almost caramel colored hair in a messy braid, and a spray of light freckles across her delicate nose. She squinted up at him, before marching over. "Travis Stoll, what are you doing here?"
"Visiting you, of course, Kit-Kat," he smirked, wrapping his arm around her shoulder and leading her away, as she rolled her eyes.
"Katie Gardner?!" a shocked voice said. The two turned around to see the first girl, eyes lined with pinks and purples widened dramatically, like a frog with bulging eyes. "You were looking for Katie?! What does she have that I don't? I'm way better than her!"
Katie turned and looked at Travis in confusion. He ran a hand through his disheveled hair. "Long story, Kates," he told her. "I'll explain to you later." And with that, he dragged her away, leaving the girl still standing there, gaping at where they once stood.
