Contempt

Frozen under your cold stare

As your eyes calculate my next move

Planting me to the ground in a dare

As if challenging me to a senseless duel

I feel the mountains of despair

As they almost collapse in on the room

A lesson that I've been taught in care

Is to never fight a battle that I might lose

You have paralyzed me, I was unaware

You have molded me into a fuse

I'm now a shell of empty air

With no armor to protect my wounds

I have agonized silently beyond compare

As I obediently followed your leading cues

You have broken your toy beyond repair

Ordered me to become a deathly muse

I fought in passion and now I declare

Your strings have been cut, they are of no use

I conquer the pressure of your gaze

Fully aware of what I must choose

I took the first step on my own affair

Leaving you behind, shocked and confused
