In a forest of emerald trees and lime bushes there slept two hedgehogs of different colours: One blue, one pink. Well, there slept one hedgehog-there lay two. The pink hedgehog looked longingly at her friend, her eyes full of desperate love. "Sonic?" She whispered. But Sonic lolled over and continued snoring. She sat up and looked at the lush green forest ahead of her. She needed him to-in some way- fall for her. But he was keeping his heart enclosed and stone. The pink hedgehog-who was, by the way, called Amy-got to her feet, a broad smile on her face. She had an idea. When she was (REALLY) young and living with her parents, her father used to read her bedtime stories about a brave hero who went to the Caves of Athledor and there they would take the ruby of love to take home to the fair maiden. Amy was sure it was real-positive. So she grabbed her bag (She kept one, because she liked being with Sonic, and god he was always travelling!) and hurried off, leaving a note by Sonics' pillow.

She was walking for ages and ages, until finally it was nightfall. She just needed somewhere to stay for the night- Just one night! She put down her bag, and was about to get her pillow out from her bag when she noticed a rather large house not far. She picked her bag back up and slowly walked along the cobble path. She heard the crunching of the dry autumn leaves and the snap of the twigs as they broke in two. Finally, she arrived outside the house. Hooray!!

She knocked abruptly on the mahogany door, and she heard muffled footsteps from inside the house. There was a click and the door cracked open. An old-looking grey cat peeped through the tiny opening she had made. "Who is it?" She croaked. Amy could clearly see the wavy wrinkle on her forehead crease as the old cat asked the question. Amy stuck out her hand. "Hi...My name's Amy. I was travelling-I was wondering if I could stay for the night- Only one night, I'll be gone in the morning. I might one some breakfast, but I'll be away pretty early anyway." She begged. The cat turned its head away to look down the corridor and at a door, that was open wide. "Miss?" She called. A small sound came out of the room down the corridor. "I have a visitor for you." She yelled down the hall. Amy's face went frozen. Visitor? She was just here to have some snack, and go to bed? She wasn't here for a party, or a feast or anything like that! She smiled weakly and edged past the cat. She walked calmly to the room, though her insides were burning up with embarrassment and nerve. She placed her red trainer into the room and into the impossibly-soft, deluxe, cream carpet. "H-Hello." She stuttered. She felt her heart race from the embarrassment, and she cleared her throat with a good, steady cough. "I'm Amy. I was wondering if I could stay the night- just one night. I'll be gone really early- with maybe a small cereal bar." There was a beautiful, relaxed looking hedgehog sunk deeply into the white leather sofa placed in front of a 72-inch widescreen TV and a retro-style stereo.

Amy looked impressed. The hedgehog pulled a small, subtle smile. "Hello." She slurred. Amy smiled. "Arabella Tenjonte Elixia Heartstone. Nice to meet you, Amy." Amy half-smiled, half-frowned. "Hello, Miss Hea-" The hedgehog stretched out her purple hand to signal silence. "Bella," She interrupted. "Call me Bella." Amy smiled and looked at the TV. Amy rarely looked at a TV. She was always travelling now. "What are you watching, Bella?" She asked. Bella shrugged. "Some random show." Amy looked at it frowning. Some random show! The man and woman was making out with each other on the bed-nice. Bella laughed at Amy's face.

"Hey- Want some dinner?"
