So. I've been reading a bunch of Akuroku stories lately and I love the pairing. So I thought it was time to try my hand at writing my own. Enjoy. Slow burn! Super Short intro to set the tone.

(Full summary)

Axel is broken hearted. The teen he had loved for years, Ven, has just died on him. The pain was too much, so Axel now finds himself in the sleepy area of Twilight Town trying to restart his life. But it seems Axel's ghosts walk around this town.

Intro- A fresh start? Not quite.

A tall man in a long black coat got off a train carrying all his personal belongings in two suitcases. His wild red hair was hidden by the hood and he liked that. His coat swallowed him up and hid him from the world. At least, until he wanted to be seen.

He'd been on train after train, not paying any attention to where he was going. That way he couldn't go back. Axel never wanted to go back to the place he used to call home. He only got off the train when he decided he was ready. With a deep breath, he got off.

He looked at the sign in front of him. 'Twilight Town' was carved into a big wooden sign that looked old but nicely painted. This would do, a quiet sleepy town in the middle of nowhere. Not at all like the place he had come from.

Axel wanted a new life. Somewhere far away from his memories. A fresh start. Where he could wake up every day and not see the ghost of him around the city. He shook his head. No more thoughts about him. He was dead, gone. Thinking of him would only hurt Axel more and would never bring him back. He grabbed his stuff and walked through the train station until he was stood in front of the clock tower looking over what seemed like the edge of the world. It was stunningly beautiful. The bright colours that stretched across the sky were breathtaking. Axel had never seen anything like it. He liked how there was very little blue and a whole lot of red. "Red is the one that travels the farthest…" Axel mumbled under his breath with a small sad smile.

The colours never changed as he stood in that spot in front of the train station. He could've been there five minutes or four hours. After getting his thoughts back, he gathered his things and walked into town. People were around, talking to one another. It was like a storybook town. There was a notice board with random jobs listed across it in handwritten notes. Axel smiled a quirky little smile. This place was perfect.

He found a listing for a room above a bakery that had everything he needed for the short term. He put on his best smile and charmed the owner of the bakery into letting him have not only the room but a job in the bakery as well.

Axel settled in with ease over the next two weeks. The only condition to him working in the bakery was he had to tie his hair back. That or wear a hairnet and Axel didn't fancy looking like a dinner lady. He smiled and charmed the regulars that came in with light conversation. He faked getting to know them and care about their lives in an effort to think about anything else but it wasn't working. The numb feeling stayed bolted in his chest. Almost like it was promising he would never feel anything again. The black hole that resided where his heart should have been would get rid of any emotion that dared enter. He tried not to dwell on it. This was when it happened.

During the last half an hour of the shop being open, the silence of the store had made Axel mind wander. He looked out the window of the store and started daydreaming about a beautiful blonde that once filled his days with a flutter in his stomach and had given him more energy simply by being there. His eyes were a clear picture in Axel memory. Big, round, gorgeous sky blue eyes that sparkled the same way the ocean did when sunlight caught the surface of gentle waves. This is when he saw him.

Outside the store, was his Ven. Dressed a little bit differently, but that hardly mattered, was Ven in all his beautiful glory. The golden spikes that were styled in a way that made no sense and yet Axel couldn't see him having any other style. Ven had stopped and was calling out to somebody. It was when he opened his eyes did Axel's heart skip a beat. Those baby blue eyes with that little sparkle glinted with humour as Ven darted up the road. He was being chased by two boys and a girl.

Axel didn't register his body moving. It felt clunky and heavy to him. He was out the bakery in a spilt second and giving chase to his Ven and the three teens that were in the way.

'Ven is alive'

Axel ran and ran. He'd lost sight of Ven and the other teens after they had turned a corner. Damn himself for not getting to know the town earlier. He had no idea where they went. How could Axel lose him again?

'Ven is alive!'

A crazy smile broke out on Axel face as he finally tuned into his own voice screaming in his head. Ven was indeed alive. Axel felt like his body was buzzing with energy. The sorrow that weighed him down had abandoned his core and in turn hope had been set alight in its place. He ran without direction until he heard Ven's voice.

"-ere are you guys?"

Axel stopped dead. Even his voice remained the same. Ven was just through a break in the trees. 'Wait, trees?' Axel took a quick look around and realised he was now in an area that was nothing like the town. 'It's not important right now.' Axel thought as he emerged through the gap in the trees.

"Guys? This isn't funny! I-" Ven stopped shouting for the other teens as he turned and came face to face with Axel. Axel breath caught in his throat. Ven dropped his hands from his mouth and grew a sheepish smile. "Sorry, I didn't see you there"

Axel forgot how to speak. How to breathe. He darted forward and wrapped the smaller teen up in his arms. He closed his eyes and planted his lips on Ven's for a small, sweet kiss. Everything would be okay now. He'd got his Ven back and life would return to the way it had been before. The moment was perfect, up until Ven thrashed out and shoved Axel away with force.

"What the hell?! Don't touch me! Get back!" Ven snarled as he backed away, his hand over his mouth and his eyes shining with rage. Axel felt like he'd been punched. Ven's beautiful voice, twisted with hurt. He'd never yelled at him like that before.

"Ven? What are you doing…? It's me" Axel spoke softly, watching the teen in front of him with confused eyes. Ven shook his head and bawled his fists up.

"What am I doing? What the hell are you doing, kissing people you've just met?!" Ven seethed. The shine in his eyes was like nothing Axel had ever seen. It looked like… hate? Pure burning hatred.

"... I don't understand, you act like you've never seen me before Ven…" Axel mumbled, frozen on the spot. Ven paused and shook his head.

"Stop calling me that. That isn't my name! Leave me alone!" the blonde teen shouted before taking off past Axel and back through the trees. Axel dropped to his knees, the air rushing out of his chest. He didn't understand. Ven didn't remember him? And what did he mean when he said that wasn't his name? He curled forward with a scream and started to cry.

Roxas ran as fast as his legs could carry him away from the old mansion and straight home. He heard a scream as he ran but he didn't dare stop to question it. He past his group of friends but didn't stop to explain himself. He only stopped when he was safely in his room with his door locked and bolted. Roxas slid down his door and covered his mouth. His first kiss, stolen by a crazy stranger. How could he?

Soo.. First one done. Next one coming up. Review if you want to. Be nice tho!
