Just a little something for Valentine's Day. Meh, I don't think it's that great, but hey. Thrown together during my free block in school. (And I had the annoying guy sitting next to me. It's not safe to write fanfics next to him. xP) Please enjoy my attempt at fluff!

Giri choko - Obligatory chocolate (It's part of Japanese Valentine's Day) (Resource: wikipedia)
"The end of the Taisho era in Japan. Mercury lamps exhale steam and cast distorted shadows on the brick buildings around them. Underneath it all, spider webs cling to dusk; citizens are battered about by an uncaring wind. On one small corner stands a shop covered in perpetual darkness… The Silver Star Tea House. The unfortunates who need help facing their doubts and fears come here…"
During the night Hiruko, the baku who helps those people with their nightmares, reigns. But during the day, while Hiruko is avoiding the sun, Hifumi, unfortunately, rules.
"Ohayo!" the rambunctious man yells, bounding into the business area of The Silver Star Tea House.
"Ohayo, Hifumi," Mizuki says from where she is wiping down the counter. "You seem more excited than usual today."
"Can you tell?" Hifumi grins. "It's because it's Valentine's Day! Are you going to give chocolate to anyone?" His heart rate doubles as he watches her expectantly, cheeks warm.
Mizuki just smiles in response. "We're running low on supplies, would you mind picking up these items?"
"Sure." Hifumi accepts the slip of paper and heads out.
It is not until evening that he returns. Hiruko has already come down and is sitting in the same spot he sits in every night, one hand propping his chin up and eyes closed.
"Here's your stuff, Mizuki," Hifumi calls, dumping the bags on the counter. When the young woman appears with a few small packages in her hands, his heart skips a beat. Is she really going to give him chocolate?
"Are you alright, Hifumi?" The young man is now bent over, a hand to his face as blood pours from his nose.
"Yes…" I just got excited and went off on another fantasy… again… Another fantasy of Mizuki falling in love with and marrying him and them living happily ever after.
"Here. Giri choko." She hands him a small, drawstring bag. Hifumi opens it and nearly faints when he sees the piece of carefully wrapped candy inside.
She did give me chocolate! Even if it's giri choko, chocolate is chocolate! He strikes a dramatic pose as tears poor from his eyes.
Mizuki ignores Hifumi's antics and pads towards Hiruko, dropping two packages on the table in front of him. When he looks up at her, she explains, "For Azusa," pushing the blue package forward. She walks away and Hiruko glances back down at the two gifts, smirking. He'll give the chocolate to Azusa later, though it's not as if he'll care in the slightest.
He lifts the other bag and toys with it in his hand, a small smile on his lips.
