Lazarus Rising

Finally... Death

All of a sudden there was nothing. No pain, no fear, no hate... just nothing. His eyes opened for once in over 40 years to... well nothing. He didn't see the constant presence of blood or the stench of rotting flesh. He was completely at peace.

It was an odd sort of peace, though. The place was still really hot. And... walls? Yes. Not only was it pitch black, but also what felt like wooden walls, like a coffin, surrounded him.

Dean couldn't help but laugh. He knew exactly where he was, whether it made sense or not, and he was completely happy with it. Anything was better than... down there. He was finally free. Granted, it was getting harder and harder to breathe and maybe a little claustrophobia was kicking in, but he was free of hell.

Dean couldn't help but think that at least he would finally be able to die.

End

A/N: This is version number two. The first one didn't flow. So, I hope it's all right!
