Just a Random little one-shot...So Sorry I haven't been doing anything recently, I've been really out of it for a while...
Never give up, never surrender, never admit defeat.
He whispered that into my ear whenever I was scared for him or whenever I felt there was no more hope. He would brush my hair away from my face and wipe tears from my red, puffy eyes. He would smile that smile that sent shivers down my spine, and his eyes would seem to glow with love.
"I just seem like I'm in a lot of danger," He would smile and say, "It's not really that dangerous at all."
We both knew that was a lie, but we felt better saying it none the less.
I went with him everywhere, and I mean everywhere, for those last few weeks. He would sigh, irritated, and exclaim, "Can't a man get a moment of peace!" But he didn't really want me to leave. We had a history of arguing, and he just wanted to keep the norm.
Everyone understood what the two of us had. If any other guy had allowed a girl to curl-up next to him and sleep in his dormitory every night, then rumors would fly. But no one talked about us, or assumed anything of us. They just understood us.
I had only just left him for half a minute, barely thirty seconds, and I returned to find him dying. The attack had hit him head-on, and he was bleeding badly. I cried, and cradled his head in my arms. He blinked up at me, and whispered so softly that I had to put my ear right above his lips.
"Make me one promise, Hermione, just one."
"Of course," my voice replied without my prompting "Anything you want, Ron, anything."
"Never give-up, never surrender." He whispered as his last breath faded away. I blinked the tears from my eyes and finished for him.
"I'll never admit defeat."
