Disclaimer: yeah no I don't even speak Korean, much less have the ability to write a 16+ hour drama in it
10 minutes
Wind rustled through the trees in the courtyard and brushed up against the glass panes of the window. Jung In Jae checked her watch, turning to gaze expectantly into the hallway.
9 minutes
The hallway was empty. Jung In Jae leant forward on the desk and dropped her head into her hands. She breathed deeply, once, twice, before lifting herself back into the sentinel for wayward students. There was still time. She could still hope.
8 minutes
However, holding on to that hope was like cupping water with your bare hands. As the seconds ticked by, it inevitably drained and dribbled away into nothingness.
7 minutes
Kang Se Chan leaned against the locker cabinet and closed his eyes. It was disheartening to see a web of cracks appear in Jung In Jae's diamond pillar of determination. His own hope, fragile as a candle flame, flickered and sputtered.
Six minutes
Back when he was in elementary school, Kang Se Chan had owned a pet sparrow. One day, it flew away, and he had spent the next two days waiting desperately for it to come back home. When Oh Jung Ho walked away from him, he once again felt that a little bird, bruised and battered, was fluttering from his grasp.
5 minutes
"Yo, you want to go get some ramen?"
"Why are you so obsessed with ramen, bitchface?"
"Ramen will always love me back…unlike a certain little shit that I know."
Park Heung Soo glared balefully at Go Nam Soon, before elbowing him hard in the ribs. Nam Soon flailed back theatrically, clutching at his chest.
"You have wounded my heart and spurned my advances, fair maiden! Never fear, I shall-"
Heung Soo whacked his friend with his backpack then shoved him into a snow bank. Nam Soon grabbed a handful of snow and chucked it at Heung Soo's face. Unfortunately, Heung Soo ducked and the snowball collided with the head of a passing student. Heung Soo snorted as Nam Soon started to apologize, but both fell silent as an irate Oh Jung Ho looked up at them. Jung Ho blinked, his expression mellowing slightly.
4 minutes
"Is class over?" Jung Ho asked, almost hesitantly.
[Am I too late?] was the unspoken query.
"The teachers let us out early," Heung Soo said carefully. "You can still make it if you run. Technically, class doesn't end for another-"
3 minutes
Jung In Jae gently knocked her head against the desk. I suppose it was a pipe dream anyways, she thought, to think I could graduate all the students from
BANG.
2 minutes
The door crashed open and Oh Jung Ho fell into the classroom, panting heavily.
"Well, well, well, look who finally decided to show up," Kang Se Chan snarked. He grinned toothily, and the corners of his eyes crinkled with joy.
1 minute
"Better late then never," Jung Ho muttered, staring diligently at his feet.
"Precisely," Jung In Jae, sporting a grin identical to her co-teacher. "See me afterwards and we'll talk about next year, okay?"
Class dismissed.
