Dean shook himself awake on a humid August night. He could feel hot breath on his neck. He twisted his head around to see the culprit, and found none other than Castiel.
Dean groaned in frustration, balling his hands into fists. "Cas, how many times do I gotta tell you?! I don't want you botherin' me right now." Castiel simply looked up at Dean, wearing that familiar, pitying expression.
"But I must, Dean." Castiel sighed deeply before continuing, as if his words were common knowledge. "As I'm sure you know forty-five of the Seals have been broken and Lilith won't pause until she breaks every one-"
"I told you I don't wanna listen to you!" Dean roared, smashing his fists down on the bed in front of him. He took in a shaky breath in an attempt to calm himself. "...Castiel, I'm gonna put this lightly." Dean looked up at Cas, a scowl stretching across his face. "You and your angel buddies are annoying the crap out of me, so I'd suggest you leave right now unless you want even more holes in that meat suit."
Castiel backed away, not for his own safety, but for Dean's satisfaction. "I...I understand your hostile feelings toward me and by brothers." Dean let out a dry laugh and Castiel paused until Dean bitterly waved his hand through the air, motioning for him to continue. "But what we are doing must be done. Lilith will bring about the apocalypse if we do not stop her, and so I'm sorry to tell you we don't have time for brooding."
Dean yelled out once again, but not words; just pure noise. He shoved his hands deep into his pockets and glared deep into Castiel's shocking blue eyes. "Please leave." Castiel looked almost taken aback by the firmness in Dean's voice. "Right this very second."
Castiel, growing more frustrated by the second, took a few threatening steps towards Dean. He made sure to brandish a small knife in his pocket. "I brought you back up from Hell, Dean. Surely I can put you back -"
Dean suddenly pushed Castiel back , sighing in exasperation. "Just come back in the morning. Please, Cas." Dean plopped back down on his bed, staring up at Cas. "Go. Now."
Castiel shook his head, frowning in disapproval. "If you insist. Goodbye Dean." Castiel made to leave, but suddenly froze. "And I apologize for the threat. It wasn't as sincere as it may have seemed."
Castiel turned around to see Dean's response, but was instead greeted by Dean sleeping soundly on his bed. Castiel smiled softly and waved before turning around.
"See you in the morning."
