Sometimes he thinks Kira is the opposite of him, a different person, Different goals and rules. But at times, he finds himself being melded into Kira's personality. His smile becoming naturally cynical and seductive, calling the foolish and evil minded to his control and very purpose. At these times, when he feels strangely repentant, he wonders why he picked it up and why doesn't he pass it on to someone else. He can't help but pity himself, the undecided villain, the dark antihero, never going to save EVERYONE. He is probably spiraling the world down with him to the black, eerie cavity he is headed to. The notebook is comforting in his grip, the power sensual, overbearing and everything to him. A laugh of an invisible friend hovering above him, watching his every move, and he cracks a plotting smile. His moralities have vanished, the rich, dark feeling back. He clutches the notebook, soothing himself as he picks up a pen, suddenly interested in the magazine on 'Japans Top Criminals' before him.

He grins at Ryuk as he chuckles along knowingly. But Light can't hear him; he's back in his own private demises for the criminals. Who, in Light's perspective have no virtue, deserve no entourage.
I'm not evil. Not twisted.

I am Kira.
