Kara Oneshot
Written by Kara
Kara had finally reached a shore. She was parched, and there was no place to get water. She ran over to get a drink…
Wait, that's salt water! I don't want to drink that! I'm losing it!
Kara had nothing left to do but look into the water at her reflection. She looked in and saw…
Katara?!? That can't be right!
She sighed.
What am I even doing? I can't just be kneeling here, looking into "my" reflection. I have friends to find.
The young girl stood up and walked away from the ocean. But then she stopped. It seemed like someone, or something, was following her. Kara twirled her head around, to see if something really was following her. Nothing was. She decided to kneel at the shore. Kara poked her finger in the water, and then lifted it out. Then a thin stream of water started to… rise?
No… it can't be!
She tentatively raised her hand with curiosity, though shaking with fear. The water started to rise again.
No way… I'm a waterbender?!?
Kara raised her other hand above it. She had heard around four years ago that waterbenders need to "focus on the water". She concentrated as hard as she could. Kara wanted to be able create a powerful wave, or travel a thick stream of water across her torso.
But then the stream broke.
Oh well, Kara thought, I'm new at this.
The new waterbender picked up her dark blue satchel and left the shore. For some reason, the word "shore" had a new meaning to her now. Maybe it was because she was a waterbender now? She wasn't quite sure. Kara shook that thought away from her mind. For now, she needed to find her friends, Aang, Katara, and Sokka. Kara thought "her" reflection meant that.
