"Oh, fantastic. Another one?" Gerard groaned from his place in the driver's seat, his head jerking towards the rushing blue car speeding down the highway. "This is the 5th one today, Toro."
"Speeders are everywhere, Way." his fellow policeman, Ray, laughed through his mustache, munching a donut. "Probably another hoodlum. You wanna catch up or let the police in the next town take care of it? It's only four minutes away."
"No, Toro." Gerard said, smiling a little as he jammed the stick into drive. "Let's go catch us another punk. I've got a feeling about this one."
"I love punk-hunting!" Ray exclaimed, clapping like a toddler and nearly dropping his donut as the police car shot forward after the speeding car.
Officer Way turned on the sirens, feeling that sense of awesomeness that came with that kind of power and authority, moving his cigarette from one side of his mouth to the other. The sirens blared warningly as Gerard tailgated the blue car until it finally slowed down and pulled over to the side.
Gerard heaved a sigh as they parked behind the speeder and unbuckled his seatbelt. "I'll be back, Toro."
"Try not to kill the kid too much, Way." Ray snickered, gulping down the rest of his coffee in a paper cup. "Or you'll get both of our asses fired, eh?"
Gerard smirked at him and opened the door, slamming it shut and walking over to the car. He motioned with his fingers for the person inside to roll down the window and they did.
Inside the car was a teenager who looked just a little younger than Gerard himself, with piercings on his lips and shaggy black hair. He looked up at Gerard once, a solemn expression on his face, and then did a double take at Gerard's face, his lips curling into a wicked smile.
"Well, hello there, officer." he said smoothly.
Gerard swallowed, rubbing the back of his neck and remembering what to say. "Kid, do you have any idea how fast you were going?"
"The name's Frank." the kid said. "And yes, actually, I do know."
"Really, how fast?"
"Not fast enough." this Frank muttered. "And plus, what are you doing wasting your life away as a police officer? You're kinda too hot to even be wearing that blue uniform."
Gerard turned five shades of red. The kid was flirting! And he was winning in doing it, too!
Gerard hastily pulled out a pen and rushed his words. "I'm afraid I'm gonna have to give you a ticket, kid. You were twenty miles over the speed limit, and I don't let kids like you go because they're cute. Oh, and don't start thinking you can get away because you sweet talk to me."
"Oh…" Frank smirked with a wink. "So you think I'm cute? Well. This is important. I should get in trouble more often, don't you think? By the way, I love your hair. Black's a nice color, it goes with blue."
Gerard pressed down harder on the ticket he was writing, trying to resist the urge to strange this kid for tempting him. This was all so weird, since he hadn't actually been attracted to one of the hooligans that went through here.
"Here," Gerard said, his voice cracking as he gave Frank the ticket.
"Can I get your number, too?" Frank asked innocently.
Gerard snorted.
"I'll take that as a yes and see you in the next town," Frank grinned. "Coffee, maybe? It'd be nice. It's not every day you get to go out with an officer of the law."
Gerard rolled his eyes. "It's a…possibility, kid. Have a nice day." he said, and then waved once, walking back to his car. He opened the door, slamming it shut and sighing deeply, running his hands over his face.
"You seemed to like that kid. I saw you blushing when you talked to him. Was he hot?" Ray giggled from the passengers' seat.
"I hate you." Gerard commented, jabbing a finger in Ray's chest. But, even though Ray was teasing, Gerard had to admit he was right.
