This is my second Smallville fanfic, so I hope it's okay.
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters.
Lana Lang coughed and winced, feeling pain shoot through her entire body. Her flu had made her weak, and she moaned as she slid underneath the covers. No-one was home, since it was a sunny Saturday afternoon. Chloe Sullivan and Pete Ross had stayed with her that morning, but now they were gone.
They weren't the people that she actually wanted to see though.
She wanted Clark Kent.
He had become her best-friend over the past year, more than just the boy-next-door. She'd actually ended up developing a crush on him, but something was holding both of them back. Whenever they just starting getting close, he had always withdrawn suddenly, as if he was scared.
Clark Kent pushed his floppy hair back away from his piercing blue eyes and pushed open the door of Lana's bedroom. The minute he walked in, he could hear her gentle breathing and he realized that she was asleep. In a way, he was relieved.
Whenever she talked to him—or even just looked at him—he got this strange feeling in his stomach and he wasn't himself.
Clark went closer and pulled up a chair from her desk, sitting it beside her head, and then sat down. He tilted his head down so that he was looking straight at her.
She was beautiful.
Her brown hair was stuck around her face and framed her sweat, flushed face. The flu had given her a fever, and she didn't have any make-up on, but Clark still thought she was the most gorgeous girl alive.
Clark got up and opened the window. He didn't quite know what else to do, so he began to walk away, toward the door. When he reached the door, though, he tuned around and walked back. Leaning down, he kissed her softly on the mouth, Smiling, he walked back to the door.
"Clark?" Lana mumbled, rolling over and looking at him. She groaned as her muscles ached. Clark rushed back to her side.
"Seriously, Lana, you should just lay still," Clark put his arms around her and moved her back onto her back so that she was in a more comfortable position. His strong arms felt so nice around her. She smiled. "How, uh…long have you been awake?"
Lana didn't say anything, which said everything. Clark didn't quite know what to do, and he blushed.
"Kiss me again," Lana murmured after a while. Clark felt a sudden rush on emotions. Surprise, shock, amazement…gladness. He leaned down, and kissed her softly again. Lana kissed him back and he felt shock-waves shoot through his body.Lana entwined his fingers his hair. Finally, Clark pulled back and smiled at her.
"I gotta go," Clark murmured to her and edged backwards toward the door. Lana smiled back and just as he reached the door, called out to him,
"Hey Clark?" Lana's voice was sore-sounding from the cold, but there was a definite huskiness. "Thanks for coming by."
"Yeah, no problem," Clark replied and smiled again. Then he walked out the door, leaving Lana to shrink back under the covers and smile at the ceiling.
