A handful of the locals had been attracted by the arrival of the MALP at the Stargate and were there to witness SG1's arrival. It appeared as though the Stargate was on some kind of thoroughfare, though there were no signs of structures in the vicinity. There was only a dirt road running through a sparse woodland that the Stargate opened out onto and it appeared to be well trod.

"Howdy folks," Jack waved at them as he walked down the steps towards the small crowd. The locals looked rather blankly at him and blinked.

"Daniel," Jack gestured for Daniel to take the stage and do his thing.

Daniel walked further forward and attempted to look friendly. "Hello, I'm Daniel," he looked expectantly at the small group of locals.

The group turned to each other and muttered indecipherably before one was elbowed forward.

"Na den dee," the alien man said directly to Daniel, "worz tha doing 'ere den?"

Daniel blinked and froze, looking blank. He looked back at Jack, Sam and Teal'c, "I have no idea what they're saying," he admitted.

"I'm Daniel," he tried again, indicating himself.

The spokesman nodded genially and pointed to himself, "Ah'm Kith!"

Daniel smiled, they were getting somewhere, though he thought 'Ah'm Kith' was one of the more unusual names they'd encountered but at least they were getting somewhere.

"Do you have a village? A town? Arush? Anything near here?" He made a roof shape with his hands to try and communicate his meaning. The spokesman looked at him like he was gone in the head, but he did answer.

"Ahh, dawnt roar'd thar be," he indicated over his shoulder with his thumb and looked back at the crowd. "'appen will shoaw em raand," he said to the group.

The crowd seemed to agree and with more unintelligible chattering they led the way down the road, indicating with beckoning hands that SG1 should follow them. Daniel shrugged at his team mates before leading the way after the aliens. They seemed to be communicating though none of them were sure how.

Daniel caught up with the group of locals as he heard the spokesman lean in towards another and mutter,

"Ah 'ops t'aint as grin as theyz cabbige lookin'"
