Author's Note: Happy Once Day! I've had this story sitting around ever since "Heroes and Villains" aired, and I figured it was time to finally finish it. This isn't exactly what I had planned to do, but I still like how it came out, and I hope you enjoy! It was fun writing Anna & Elsa, and I'll miss them on the show, but I'm looking forward to the Queens of Darkness more & more! :D

As Elsa walked through the door, the feeling hit her all at once. She was back in her home of Arendelle. While she appreciated the things that Emma and the people of Storybrooke did for her in finding Anna and Kristoff, she was happy to be home. Now they could get on with their lives. And more importantly, Anna's wedding. Anna postponed her wedding for 30 years just because of her. It was time that her sister got what she deserved. A wedding fit for a princess. And if she had her way, Hans would not be anywhere near them.

"Isn't this great, Elsa? We're home!" Anna was saying as they made their way back into their world. Kristoff took Anna in his arms and swung her around. "I was beginning to think we'd never get back. Or get to our wedding, for that matter."

Anna rolled her eyes. "I knew we would eventually. I just never dreamed it'd be 30 years later! Three decades have passed. Can you imagine?"

Elsa wasn't listening to them. She was suddenly homesick for Emma and Storybrooke. Which was weird, since Storybrooke really wasn't her home. But she realized that she'd probably never see Emma again, and her family. And she wasn't happy about that. She knew what she had to do. It might be a bit drastic, but it would be worth it in the end if she wanted to make Arendelle her home.

"Elsa, where are you going?" Anna said as she realized Elsa wasn't walking in the same direction as they were, to their castle. Elsa seemed to be walking to...no, she couldn't be. "Elsa, wait!"

"I can't, Anna. I have something to do first."

Anna quickly followed along behind her sister. She had a feeling what Elsa was up to, and she had to put a stop to it. If not for Elsa, then for all of Arendelle.

As she feared, Elsa was headed towards the familiar place of the rock trolls' home. "Elsa, you can't be serious! Please don't do this."

Elsa held up her hand. "Don't try to stop me, Anna. I'll more than likely never see Emma again, and I don't want to keep these memories of her."

Anna stopped walking, and made Elsa bump into her so she would stop too. Elsa sighed. She knew Anna couldn't let this one go. Anna was always looking out for them both. It was a quality that Elsa loved and hated about her sister.

"I know you miss Emma. I didn't know her very long, but there are some things I will miss from Storybrooke too. But, Elsa. We just went through that whole ordeal with Ingrid, and now you're going to do it again! It's not worth letting go of memories rather than just keeping them in a special place in your heart." She looked over at Kristoff then and smiled. She couldn't wait to finally marry him.

Elsa thought about that for a minute. Anna was right, of course. Ingrid was denied happy memories of their mother for so long that she made everybody's lives miserable, including her own. If there was anything to learn from that, it was exactly what Anna said. She would just have to learn to forget about Emma, as hard as that would be. And somewhere in Maine, she hoped that Emma would do the same to her. It was nearly impossible for Emma to come to Arendelle. And even if she did, Elsa didn't know if Emma would want to return where she belonged.

Elsa sighed. She pulled her little sister in close for a hug. "You're right, Anna, as usual. I'm going to keep these memories of Emma and her family. I'm so glad you're my sister."

Anna let out a breath of relief and hugged her sister back. "You're doing the right thing. I know it'll be hard, not seeing Emma every day, but we have each other, and that's what matters."

"As it should be." Elsa looked down in her hands, for there was the memory crystal that held Ingrid's existence. She looked at Anna. "You know we should do the thing we promised Ingrid and return these to the people of Arendelle."

"You're right. And maybe after that, we can give a proper burial to her too. I mean, she did do some terrible things, but she deserves to be placed next to her sisters."

"I think our mother would love that." Elsa looked over at Kristoff, who seemed bored with the whole conversation. "But first, we have a wedding to plan. So, come on. Let's go home."

As they all walked together towards the castle, Elsa thought fleetingly of Emma one last time. Thank you, Emma, wherever you are. I really do wish I could repay you. She smiled. She would always be grateful that she knew Emma Swan, even for a short time.

Back in Storybrooke, Maine, Emma looked ahead solemnly. Ever since Elsa went back to her kingdom with her sister, Emma felt more alone than ever before. The Snow Queen was defeated, but Emma would always have to deal with powers that she didn't necessarily want. It was the price to pay for being the Savior.

Emma felt somebody come up behind her. She didn't have to turn around to know it was Hook. She could always feel his presence, and she smiled.

"You're awfully quiet, love."

"Just thinking about Elsa. I wish I had something concrete to prove that I actually knew her, you know? It might sound silly, but it was really nice having somebody here that knew exactly what I'm dealing with. I wish we had time to take a picture or something. Now I'll never know if Anna and Kristoff ever got married. It's not like Arendelle has cell phone service."

Hook smiled. He still didn't understand how cell phones worked, but he knew they were important for communicating.

"I may not know what you mean, but I do know one thing. If you hold your memories of Elsa in your heart, you will be fine. And you know I'm an expert about the heart."

Emma rolled her eyes. Killian knew how to make her feel better. And she knew he was right. She pulled him in for a kiss. She might not have Elsa around anymore, but she did have Killian, whole, and himself again. And that was thanks enough. She just hoped whatever came next he would always be there for her.

The End
