Calvin was excited. It was his third birthday and Calvin was bouncing off the walls, grinning ear to ear. "If I get some money, I could buy the world," Calvin breathed. "I would rule the universe." He didn't realize his parents were getting increasingly agitated.

"If you don't stop bouncing around, we won't celebrate your birthday." His dad said irritably.

"Don't be so harsh!"

"If he doesn't stop, he'll blow up the house!"

Calvin's mom sighed. "Calvin, stop… your dad is getting annoyed." Calvin just grinned happily, took out a watergun, and squirted his dad in the face.

"Alright, that's it!" Calvin's dad took out one of Calvin's toy waterguns and shot him in the shoulder. "HA! I got y-…. Calvin? Are you ok?"

Calvin was suddenly crying. Hard. "What did I do?" Calvin's dad was confused. One moment the ball of energy was driving them up the wall, and now…

"Am I a bad boy?" He asked, sobbing.

"No, Calvin," His mom said gently. "Look, we have your birthday present." She handed him an orange tiger.

Calvin looked at it with shining eyes.

And he hugged the animal that would one day become his best friend.
