Chapter One: The Beginning of the End- The Train Ride to Seventh Year

James POV: She was finally mine. This summer had been one of the most emotionally hectic summer ever. My on and off real and fake relationship with Lily Evans, that is. She had said yes. And I love her. She loves me too. All is well and we're off to Hogwarts. Lily is cuddles up in my arms on the train and Sirius and Remus have gone off. Probably to get chocolate no doubt. Remus' love for chocolate is like almost inhuman. Oh wait he is a werewolf. But I wonder why Sirius went with him. Remus hates Sirius' wet dog odor. Which is weird considering he is a dog one night a month. Well, you never know with Remus. Lily's strawberry auburn hair flicked me in the mouth.

"Ew, Lily. Keep your hair to yourself. I don't like hair a la mode"

She snorted, "Can it you prat. You know you like cuddling."

True. Drat she was right, "Ok, you win Evans," and I put my arms around her. I poked her forehead as she turned around.

She smiled up at me. Merlin I am so lucky to have her. We started snogging and then a group of hufflepuff sixth and seventh year girls tapped on the window and gave me thumbs. But that startled me.

"Merlin's bloody Aunt Jill, those little gits." And I made a motion like I was getting up and those girls scattered.

"Jamie, calm down," she said smirking, knowing I hate that name.

"Ok my little Lilykins," I said knowing full and well she hated that name.

She groaned and I laughed. She's too easy. And her temper was as fiery as her hair. Her family had both blond and brunette hair, but Lily has a mane of fire colored locks that looked even redder when she was mad because her face turns the color of an overly ripe tomato.

While the boys were off and Peter was in the bathroom, we started snogging. I breathed slowly down her neck and started to do this crazy ear nuzzling thing she loves. She moaned and I smiled. Bingo!

"Potter, stop it, would you, " Sirius whined as he and Remus entered the compartment, "thought you were shagging with the amount of noise coming from here."

"Shove off, Sirius. You're just jealous. You don't have anyone," I shot at him.

Then I noticed his trademark silky Sirius locks were shaggy and Remus' normally gelled flat hair stood on end. They both blushed.

"You two aren't… are you?" I asked.

"uh… No?" Remus said, his face the color of a tomato. He is honestly such a bad liar.

"Ok well Rem, Sweetie, your lying sucks and so since you and Sirius are together please no shagging in front of me and Lily," I said.

Sirius grabbed Remus and looked like he would kill him and then kiss him.

"Er, well yeah Remus and I are together but it was supposed to be a secret,' Siruis said with a pointed glare at remus, "but don't tell anyone. This has only been going on for about 2 and a half weeks and so we don't want to tell people too fast. We were going to tell you at Auror training but the cats out of the bag, or the dog I guess."

Oh no, not dog puns.

"Siriusly?" Lily asked.

That earned a groan from all the Marauders.

"Lilybug, that's not exactly original but thanks for bringin' up memories of first year puns," Remus teased.

"Man I'm going to miss Frank Longbottom and Alice Prewitt. They were always the best Heads. I wonder who's Head Boy, I got Head Girl?" Lily asked.

"Yeah, we know Lily, you've only mentioned it 234,867,293,847,294,385 times. But mate you haven't told her?" Remus questioned.

"No, you git or she wouldn't have asked. I haven't told her and I didn't plan on it until we got to Hogwarts but Lily I'm Head Boy," I sighed seeming exasperated.

"Merlin's bloody grandmum had Dumbledore gone mad? Who'd let you be Head Boy. He must be sick or had too much firewhiskey. No this cant be right," Lily exploded.

"We said the same thing, love," Sirius explained nonchalantly.

"And James Potter you didn't tell me first. You bloody prat!" Lily exploded.

"Chill Lils, it was supposed to be a surprise, and you'd see me in the head room, tell me to shove off and then I'd tell you," I soothed softly.

"And then you'd shag!" Sirius told Lily exitedly. You'd think he was still 12, the way he acts.

"No, buddy, she'd yell, I'd ruffle my hair and use a witty comeback and we'd snog. Fully clothed," I stammered, blushing.

"So you're not using the amazing head shower together?' Sirius asked daringly.

"Sirius bloody Black, you know damn well that we will shower separately. Bloody hell!" Lily and I exclaimed before disappearing into a fit of bellyaching giggles.

"Yes mums," Sirius teased.

He will probably constantly nag us about this bathroom now. Bloody hell. I shouldn't have mentioned it. Or Remus shouldn't have anyway. Well we'll jus Silencio him and presto or abracabrva as the muggles say, he'll be silent.

Sirius grabbed Remus' hair and they fell over onto a bench doing what at first looked like fighting, but then I realized they were snogging.

We ate Bertie Botts until Peter came backand it seemes he had been eating them and threw up after a vomit flovored one. Oh well you can't win them all buddy. His face is green and his eyes are redder than usual. I hope he won't try and snog anyone anytime soon.

Unless he boils and starches his mouth that is. You can't trust those beans. Some are good and some are hell in your mouth.

Lily snuggled closer and everything felt all right again. Her eyes fluttered and I knew she was sleeping. I heard her moan my name and the Maurauders grin. It's gonna be a great year.

"You lot look like you ought to be in a loony bin," Lily sighed.

"If Dumbledore meant for James to Head then this will soon be a loony bin," Remus commented, and we all laughed though it was exceedingly true.

Lily's POV: No matter how annoying the Marauders can be, it's nice to be in a place where I can laugh and we are all friends. Well except Peter, don't really know him. He's a bit quiet.

But Remus, Sirius, and James are so bloody crazy. And their egos are the size of the castle itself. Strutting about like they own the place. Never in class on time, but still making N.E.W.T level classes. Where other people spend hours studying, but the boys never study. Unless you count studying girls. Which I guess every bloody boy at bloody Hogwarts has been doing since first year, so I don't mind anymore.

Though I honestly don't know if Remus studies, he always has his face in a book. But I don't know if they're school books or books just for fun. He's kind of quiet when he's alone, unlike Sirius who's boisterous all day and night.

This summer has been the most emotionally exhausting one ever. At first I hated James but we grew to love each other this summer. Too bad Tuney is still dating Vermin Dursley. James bought us all chocolate frogs and I looked at all the cards. The boys all have every card but being a muggle I don't have many.

I'm not so surprised about Remus and Sirius, they have always had an opposites attract vibe about them. the dreamer and the realist, of course they switched from each position. I'm honestly very happy for them though. It's amazing that they are going from friends to more than friends.
