Setting: Maria is slouched over her bed.

Dear Maria,

My dearest Maria, you truly are a fool to think I could ever love you. To think you were anything more than a mere commoner. To think so highly of yourself when you have no manners. Oh, the manners you lack, along with the charm. You have a pretty face, but that is soon cancelled out by your pompous personality. You're obsessed with fighting and war. You've never done anything to help anybody that didn't also help yourself.

My ancestry dates back to the 900's. You were abandoned not at birth but at three years old. It could never work, and there is someone else. It's Elizaveta, your worst enemy. She is everything you are not. She listens to my piano, she's a proper young lady, and her beauty isn't cancelled out by a dreadful personality.

I wish I could say our time together hadn't all been a waste, but it was. I'm simply far too superior to you in everyway, and now I have found a lady who is my equal, not an inferior like yourself.
Sincerely,
Roderich
