Chapter one

It was just a hot and sunny day in the middle of nowhere. There was shooting and bombs everywhere. "I need to get everyone out of here alive." I said to myself.

2 weeks before

(Lexa's perspective)

"Soldiers. Attention! we are getting a new recruit today. Her name is Clarke and she will be training with us for now on." said Sergeant Kane.

My eyes lit up. "Another female soldier!" I thought. "I just hope she isn't mean like the last one."

"Oh here she comes. I expect you guys to be nice to her and treat her with respect." Kane said as he exited through the side door.

"I heard she was hot." said Bellamy as he smoothed his brown, curly hair back and turned to his best friend. "Lincoln, how does my hair look dude? How does my breath smell?" He asked as he blew his breath into Lincoln's face.

"Smells…. Great dude." said Lincoln, coughing hysterically.

"Oh shut up! It's not that ba…" said Bellamy, but was caught off guard when Clarke walked in. Her long blonde hair was down and had little braids in it. Her bright blue eyes were scanning the room and dancing from face to face. Her face got bright red when she saw that Bellamy's jaw was almost to the floor. She continued to look at everyone and smile. She finally turned to me. Ours eyes met and I thought I was going to melt. Those fierce blue eyes were so sharp and beautiful that I couldn't look away. A smile was inching its way into the corners of my mouth. It was all over in a couple of seconds.

"Hi everyone. I'm Clarke Griffin." she said kind of shyly.

"Holy shit. How are you so hot?" Bellamy blurted out.

"Umm… Well… I…." stammered Clarke who was starting to turn bright red.

Just then Sergeant Kane walked back in the room and dismissed all of us to go to lunch. I could tell that Clarke was relieved to get out of that awkward situation.

"So, how do you like the new girl?" asked my best friend, Raven while we were at lunch. She was the only other female soldier at the camp. She has dark brown hair with warm brown eyes. She's the head engineer, which makes everyone love her.

"I don't know. She seems pretty nice." I said thinking of her blue eyes. We continued to eat our turkey sandwiches and strawberries.

"Look there she is. Do you want to invite her to come sit by us?" Raven asked. But Bellamy was already on her.

"Do you want to come sit by us Princess?" I overheard him say.

"Umm, sure." she replied kind of hesitant because of his behavior the other day.

"So what's the latest gossip Raven?" I asked trying to get Clarke out of my mind.

"Ok so you know Finn and…." she immediately started to say, excited to start gossiping. I tried to listen to her but I was in my own world.

"Mmhh." "That sounds terrible." I would say even once in a while so she would think I was still listening to her, even though I was STILL thinking about Clarke. I didn't know why I couldn't get her out of my mind. I looked over my shoulder to where Clarke was sitting. She was laughing at something Bellamy had said. I got really mad, but didn't know why. I had a bad feeling in my gut, and just wanted to go over to Bellamy and slap him. Which is what I almost did, until Raven snapped me out of it.

"Lexa. LEXA! Are you even listening to me?"

"What? Oh sorry I was just…." I said.

"Just staring at the new girl?" Raven said finishing my sentence with a devious grin.

"What? No! Why would you think that?" I said, my cheeks turning red.

"Because your TOTALLY blushing right now!" She said totally excited. "You should go talk to her. Maybe you guys will become good "friends"."

"NO!" I said. "I can't do that! I'll make a fool out of myself! I'll do it later."

"Alright." Raven said defeated.
