Letting Go, Moving On

"Your Funeral is tomorrow." Detective Benson whispered.

"Which you both are expected to be there." The Marshalls told Olivia and Elliot.

"I need a few minutes alone with Olivia." Alex told Stabler and the Marshalls. They

nodded their compliance, and walked out of earshot. "I'm signing everything over to you. Use it however you want. I need you to look after mother for me. After the funeral tomorrow, take a month's leave, and go stay with Emily. We both know that she's a vault with sensitive information. Okay." Cabot told her girlfriend.

"Are you telling me to go be with Emily? Did I hear you right?" Olivia asked shocked and confused.

"Yes. I don't know when or even if I'm going to be able to be me again. I don't want you with a stranger. I'd rather it be with someone I trust. Just don't see her as a place holder. I know you're attracted to her, so just go for it. Please." Alexandra replied and pleaded. Liv nodded her consent. "I love you." Alex told her lover.

"I love you too. Stay safe. I will see you again." Olivia told the young attorney before the Marshalls announced that it was time to go.

"I'm going to be taking a month off. I'll be in DC if you need me for court." Liv informed her partner, as they drove back into the city.

"What did you two talk about?" Elliot pressed. He knew that his partner and the ADA were close, but didn't expect Olivia to take off for a month.

"She told me to go and be with Emily Prentiss." Olivia answered curtly. El had met the Ambassador's daughter once or twice.

"Why does that matter?" Stabler continued, still not catching what Benson was saying.

"Alex and I have been dating for the last 2 ½ years." Olivia whispered out. It finally dawned on him the significance of Liv's conversation with Cabot.

"Liv, I'm sorry." El tried to apologize.

"Just save it, El. I don't want to talk about it. We never had this conversation." Benson told him. They rode in silence the rest of the way.
