Hi, The poem in this is written by rudyard Kipling, about his son Jack who was killed during WW1.

i do not own Attack on Titan or the characters or the poem itself.

Please remember that I am not good at punctuation.

Enjoy!

The soldiers have returned, they are bruised and cut, all emotions rid from their faces.

i cut through the crowd and go up to a soldier. A young boy with brown hair and green eyes, he would be my sons age.

"Have you news of my boy Jack?"

Not this tide.

He looked away from me, I cannot accept that as his answer.

"When do you think that he'll come back?"

Not with this wind blowing, and this tide.

The soldiers eyes are filled with tears threatening to spill over.

"Has anyone else had word of him?"

For what is sunk will hardly swim,

not with this wind and tide.

And suddenly, the reality came to me.

"Oh dear, what comfort can I find?"

None this tide, nor any tide,

Except he did not shame his kind-

Not even with that wind blowing, and that tide.

The Soldiers utters his condolences and staggers away.

Then hold your head up all the more,

This tide,

And every tide;

Because he was the son you bore,

And gave to that wind

blowing and that tide!

My son gave his life, alongside many others.

And he was my boy.

My boy Jack
