This is a really random idea that came to me after talking about it to my friend. It was just this cute little idea about what happens when you spend a lot of time around people with prominent accents and lilts. If the summery hasn't already clarified, America and England have an established relationship.
I really wish I owned Hetalia, but I don't.
Americans love the British.
For years, Americans have been making shows and movies that take place in England, which lead to the country adopting Briticisms. And Lord only knows how crazy Americans get when they hear someone speak with an English accent.
Americans love the British.
America started spending almost all of his time with England once they got into a stable relationship. He wanted them to do so much together it made the other nations' heads spin. America spent more time in the United Kingdom than he did in his own country now if he could get away with it. And whenever a meeting came up with the two of them involved, America always tried to get a seat next to the Brit, spent most of the off time in England's hotel room, and any number of other things. It was actually kind of funny.
To anyone looking in from the outside, it seemed very much like America adored England. Perhaps he did; it was very possible with everything they did. Was it any wonder, with how much time he spent around England that the American started to adopt a bit of a lilt? It was very subtle at first, but it gradually became more noticeable.
Of course, it wasn't nearly as strong as the Englishman's but it was most definitely there. There was no end to England's teasing about America's new accent. They may have been together, but they still argued and teased and insulted each other; that would probably never change no matter how much they loved each other. Finally, he came up with an intelligent comeback to all of the Englishman's teasing comments. He simply said that England was basically insulting himself, since he was the one who America picked the accent up from. That managed to keep his beloved Brit quiet for a time.
His soft accent really was very cute, and England always took the time to tell him so, even if the American always denied it.
That accent wouldn't be fading away any time soon. Not with how much time America spent with England. Because of course,

Well, that didn't take very long to write. I had fun with the idea, though. Maybe I'll put up the idea I had for America the Brit. If you want a story about America becoming more British because of a spell gone wrong, please tell me. Vote and tell me yes or no. I would love to see what you guys think.
