"Time—no beginning, no end. An infinite procession that humbles our mortality. But there moments in life that transcend our fate—memories crafted by gods among men that defy time to forget them."
"Classy" Freddie Blassie – WWF Wrestlemania XV
"The flow of time is always cruel… Its speed seems different for each person, but no one can change it… A thing that does not change is a memory of younger days…"
Sheik – The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Leaves rustled in a light late-afternoon breeze. They found themselves drooping and flicking back up as raindrops plinked and plunked over them. Some drops slid off onto or struck the towering trees that were home to the leaves, some pounded the earth below into mud, and some landed on the only two people among the foliage. Though the falling water bent most of what it touched, it didn't bend the smiles of the two who were briskly walking through it. Their hair, their faces, and their clothes were pelted, but they didn't care. It didn't even disturb them when their clasped hands, their only source of warmth at the moment, were soaked in an autumn chill.
Stepping over rocks and arching roots, pushing through outstretched leafy branches, the couple finally reached the edge of the woods. A dark gray sky continued to greet the plains below with plenty of rain.
The young lady who held the young man's hand ran a finger through a few strands of her short, verdant hair and flicked some rainwater at his nose. He turned and raised his eyebrow at her, and then he returned the favor by tossing some moisture from his long brown hair at her eye. The woman playfully groaned and pushed him, making him laugh and wrap her head under his arm, twisting a knuckle on her scalp. The two then tightened arms around each other, still smiling.
"Hey!"
The call was then followed up by the whinnying of horses, and the couple looked to the field. A big, white, circular fence stood several yards away, and while a few animals were retreating into a nearby barn, others refused to move much to the annoyance of the man standing next to them. He turned to look out in the distance at the two young people near the trees and cocked his head, his face showing a small smile and rain dripping from his gray beard and mustache. That's all it took for the young man and woman to chuckle and start running to help him.
