"I'm so sorry," Blaine cries, shaking his head with regret. It breaks his heart, knowing that he's doing this – that he's done this – but he needs to tell Kurt the truth.
The pain of Kurt walking away, hand pressed to his mouth is something that kills Blaine inside.
He wakes up.
Blaine's sitting upright in a bed he's not used to waking up in, sunlight too bright around him as he pants heavily. Rubbing his eyes awake with a fist, Blaine realizes that he's in Kurt's room in his and Rachel's loft in New York. Blaine licks his lips, gulping.
It was just a dream.
It was just a dream.
He repeats it quietly to himself in the silence of the room, trying to get his heart rate back to normal. When it's closer to what he thinks is his regular pulse, he looks over his shoulder to find Kurt sleeping peacefully, his hair adorably rumpled with sleep.
It was just a dream, he sighs in relief.
He hadn't broken up with Kurt. He hadn't cheated on Kurt because of the loneliness that was killing him slowly.
No, he's here with Kurt in New York City, and Kurt's lying next to him oblivious to the fact that Blaine had just experienced the nightmare of his life.
Nice and short and sweet and honestly my friggen headcanon about this damn episode until we're off hiatus /o\
