Authors note - Ok so I have had this in my head for ages so I thought I'd finally give it a go… should I carry one with this? I really should be studying but… oh well who needs to pass uni XD

It was quiet 13 dwarves, a hobbit and a wizard stared at the new arrival. Long copper hair was un-braided and flowed freely; piercing blue eyes upon a well formed angular face stared out from under the dark green cloak locked with the dark brown ones of Thorin. Gone was the laughter and the cheers that had rang out though bag end, no doubt keeping the neighbours awake, not five minutes previously. No one dared to speak, not until Thorin Oakenshield was ready. 'Why… What are… Why are you here?' Thorin stumbled, too shocked to fully vocalise his thoughts. 'You called for warriors to help you on your quest to reclaim Erebor, I have answered.' The young dwarf maiden replied unfazed by the whole situation. 'And by the look of it I am one of only a few: unless of course this… house… is far larger than it appears.' She was used to being looked down on, a female was meant to stay in the home raise children, they were allowed to work in the forges and armour smiths, but a fighter was unheard of. No one responded and the silence went on so long Bilbo thought it would never end. The dwarves seemed to be struggling within themselves; they had just agreed any help on their long journey would be a great gift but not this, never this. Dwalin knew the perils that lay ahead of them, he already knew she would be hurt at every turn; the road was suitable for one so young. Fili and Kili shared a look, they had seen her before in the city and Fili and thought her pretty, Kili knew this as was smirking at his brother. At long last Gandalf spoke 'I am terribly sorry but I don't believe I caught you name, and if you are to be traveling with us I find that it is important to know these things'. For that he received what can only be described as a glare from Thorin. If she noticed it didn't faze her composure as she replied with a smile 'My name is Kara, daughter of Nistria.'
