Here I am again with another One-Shot. This time it's Hiro. I just love the little tyke- tryin' to be all grown up and mature. So I tried to get into his head. Ramblings of an obsessed person, people. Disregard if at all possible.

The 'armor' idea really just stems from the fact that he aspires to be a knight in shining armor for Kisa. That's all. And, without further adieu, I present Chain Mail. ((Which is a type of Medieval Armor...Chain Mail, I mean...))

Before he knew it was happening, Hiro Souma had fallen from Grace.

He had nowhere left to run, no one left to confide in, and nothing left to believe.

His armor had broken.

The first crack was formed when he made the mistake of telling Akito just what he felt about Kisa, and she was hurt because of it.

The second came to be when he had abandoned her, even when he knew she was being teased.

The third and final fracture- the one that reduced his invulnerable armor into scrap-metal- was the one that had formed in his heart when Tohru Honda entered the picture.

And with that, his armor fell to pieces.

Tohru could do everything for her that Hiro himself could not.

And he hated her for it.

He didn't know what to do.

And finally he did.

After that day in the park- the one he spent pondering over timid tigresses, suits of shinning armor, and royal princes; the day with that girl- he resolved something in his heart full of turmoil.

Hiro began to reassemble the shards of his broken armor in hopes that someday, he could use it again to protect the one he loved so dear.

But, he got to thinking, what if I don't become a prince? What if I can't?

...What if I have fallen too far?
