Opening Chapter titled- Prophecy

It was a cold winter's night, the stars shining like diamonds in the sky. The forest was deathly silent; all was still; until a pair of bright, wild eyes pierced the dank darkness. The figure tentatively stepped out into the clearing and she was suddenly immersed in moonlight. Her face was drawn and sallow, her body feeble with fatigue. In her arms lay a filthy bundle, ripped from the treacherous journey they had been on. The woman peered into the bundle and her gaze fell upon the baby's face, she was gorgeous. Her angelic face framed by golden curls, her chestnut eyes looking around the forest with intense curiosity. The trees towered over them like majestic kings, the branches grasping at the woman, scratching her face as if they were intent on harming her. The intensity of her gaze was broken by a deafening sound and without hesitation she began running. She panted as she ran further into the labyrinth of trees, delicate twigs snapping beneath her feet.

A shadow in the sky, flying gracefully, suddenly swooped as though she had spotted prey on the ground below. She landed delicately on the grass awaiting her Master's instructions.

Dame Elldeani sat in a tanned leather chair, in front of the crackling fire that danced in the fireplace. She sat upright as she sensed a disturbance in her mind waves; her most faithful servant had arrived. Elldeani walked across the stone floor, the noise echoing around the room. Her sanguine cloak fluttering around her slight yet muscular frame. She approached the figure standing before her. There shimmering in the darkness was a magnificent dragon. The creature had a regal posture, its emerald green scales glowing eerily. The Baroness stopped in front of the dragon, which was at least three times her size, and looked up to meet its enticing mahogany eyes.

"So dragon, did you fulfil the task I delegated to you?" The dragon nodded in reply.

"Of course my master, I always ensure that your wishes are carried out. The creature has been captured and is being brought here now."

The Baroness smiled. "Excellent. We shall see what this thing can tell us." She particularly emphasised on 'thing', not wanting to name the creature. Not because she disliked the creature, but because she knew what it really was; what it was truly capable of. She patted Kessap but added as she walked away. "Make sure no harm comes to it, I can handle what to do to loosen its tongue." She laughed manically as she marched back to the castle.

She sat back down in the tan leather armchair, the fire had died down. The Baroness sat there idly, drumming her fingers together when the huge oak doors creaked open. She chuckled under her breath and looked up, eyes full of hatred. There standing in between two guards was the almighty being; there stood the future.
