A/N: This has been in my head for days now. I just had to write it.
Disclaimer: I do not own The Legend of Zelda.
Rollgoal
Five Rupees a play. Ten Rupees if you win. A simple game… or so Link thought. His wallet was nearly empty from playing the so called "simple game." Hena spoke of a great prize if he could get through the first eight levels. A bomb bag, a larger quiver… Link's mind swirled with thoughts on what that great prize could be and that is what kept him playing the game. With the last of his money handed over, Link was focused and determined to win. He was on that eighth level now. That prize was as good as his this time.
Slowly, he tilted the board forward letting the ball roll down the ramp and up to the other side where he successfully stopped the ball. Then, he rolled it down the straight path to the next ramp. Once again, he tilted and stopped the ball on the other side. He repeated once more with the third ramp. Now he was to the dreaded final ramp. This one had beaten him every time. For some strange reason, he had a hard time stopping the ball on the corner. This time would be different. He could feel it. Slowly, he tilted the board.
The ball rolled down the ramp, but failed to make it up the other side. Carefully, Link tilted it back and let the ball climb back up. Then he tilted it once more. The ball reached the top… and fell back down the ramp once more. This time, Link tilted a little more. The ball sped to the other side and Link had to rush to keep the ball from flying off the course. Barely, he managed to keep the ball on and slowly rolled it into the goal.
"GOAL!" Hena exclaimed. "Here's your prize! You can now use this frog lure in the fishing hole."
For the first time since the journey started, Link truly wished he could speak freely.
