AN: I've been reading a lot of SM fanfiction lately. Getting in touch with my childhood I suppose. The original ending I had in mind for this was quite different. But being an ardent U/M fan I went the waffy road instead. Review!
Chiba, Mamoru was afraid.
He had not been afraid as Endymion; breaking law and tradition in order to be with the princess of the forbidden Moon Kingdom.
He had not been afraid as he faced his own generals in battle to defend a kingdom that had shunned him and his love.
He had not been afraid when he began having less-than-legal thoughts about the blonde, blue-eyed girl of fourteen with whom he frequently collided.
He had not been afraid when he realized how deeply the two were connected. When he remembered how, long ago, they had only had eyes for each other.
And it was not the nightmares, warning him of doom if he stayed with her, that frightened him now.
No.
In order to get her to leave he had told her that he didn't want his whole life to be dictated by what had happened to them in the past. He said that the only reason they loved each other was because of something that had happened millennium ago.
Chiba, Mamoru was afraid he was right.
