Sniff sniff. "Papa, you forgot something in the oven," I groan groggily, struggling to open my eyes. Oops. I must have fallen asleep in my chair while doing homework again.

I manage to get one eye to flicker open before closing again. Orange?

I go to brush off the blanket Tikki must have put on me while I was sleeping but there's nothing there. But why am I so hot then?

I jolt upright and look around my room. Flames are licking at the edge of Adrien's pictures on the wall above my computer.

The wheels on my chair scratch the floor as I throw myself backwards.

"Tikki? Tikki, where are you?" I frantically try to find the bag Tikki always hides out in. Under these papers? No. In my backpack near my desk? I reach over and drag it towards me. Nope. Tikki isn't in there.

Then I notice it - over on the armchair is my bag and Tikki is laying at the edge, but as I watch, the pillows on the chair start to catch fire.

Maybe if I transform she'll fly over here and be fine? "Tikki spots o-" I start, but Tikki coughs terribly, shaking her head, and begins to slide off the chair. I dive to catch her before she hits the floor. I grab the strap of my bag just before the fire gets to it, burning my knuckles a bit.

I tuck Tikki in my bag gently and fasten the bag tightly around me so I don't lose her in the smoke. I start towards the trap door to downstairs but I can't see it anywhere.

"Mom? Papa?" I call out, coughing. I get down low to avoid more smoke but it's starting to make me feel woozy. I hug my bag close to me. What am I supposed to do?

All of a sudden there is a bursting sound and glass shards fall from my skylight. I throw my arms up to shield my eyes when I hear a familiar voice. "Marinette? Marinette are you ~~~~~~ th~~ ~~~~~ ~~~~~?"

The cuts on my arms from the glass have woken me up again. "Marinette! Are you awake?" a hesitant Chat Noir asks me from above. Strangely, his voice is more high-pitched than I remember.

I keep my bag clutched close and nod slightly. "Please, help," I manage to cough out. He gently lifts me up and uses his staff to get us out through the skylight. "It'll be okay Marinette. All you have to do is wake up." Tikki's voice says from Chat Noir's mouth.

Huh? I blink and wake up in the guest room at my aunt's house. Wait, my new room at my new home with my aunt. Tikki is nervously hovering over me. "Marinette? Are you awake now?"

My eyes fill with tears as I clutch the blankets in a ball against my chest, and begin sobbing uncontrollably.
