Summary: Offworld at a treaty signing the Sheppards enjoy the quiet moments of married life
Lips on her neck woke Doctor Jennifer Sheppard. She smiled and snuggled farther back into the arms of her husband.
Not opening her eyes quite yet Jennifer let her senses tell her where she was.
She smelled the salt water of the Hilen ocean as the waves lapped against the small beach near the village the SGA teams were staying at.
The king sized bed was extremely soft underneath. The cloth cushions similar to Earth pillows were filled with a spongy plant substance and were the most comfy things Jennifer had ever slept on.
"Morning, angel."John murmured into Jennifer's right ear as he tightened his embrace.
"Morning."Jennifer replied drowsily. "What time is it?"
John glanced out the open wood patio doors at the rising orange sun. "Early."
"Good."Jennifer acknowledged. "I don't want to go anywhere."
John grinned as he kissed his wife softly before settling back against the pillow. "Yeah for a boring treaty signing this turned out pretty good."
"It's a little more than a treaty signing."
"Okay."John relented. "I guess the twenty-fifth planet joining the collation is a reason to party."
"We all need a chance to have fun every once in awhile."
"Yeah."Sheppard agreed as he looked out at the water. "Coming to a planet and not getting shot at for once is nice."
"Or having to rescue Rodney."
"Or you."
"Hey."Jennifer protested good-naturedly as she turned in his arms. "I think my jinx is fading and Evan and I did draw fire away from you guys last week."
John placed a kiss on Jen's bare right shoulder. "Reminds me I need to talk to him about that."
Jennifer placed her hands on either side of John's face. "Go easy on Evan….it worked out in the end."
"Barely."John replied as he kissed her relishing the feel of her soft skin against his.
The memories of that mission making him want to keep her as close as possible.
It could've gone south so easily.
"We live on a wing and a prayer, remember?"Jennifer commented as they broke apart.
John tenderly brushed a stray hair away from his wife's face. "Nothing like life in Pegasus."
Jennifer caught John's right hand in hers. "I wouldn't change anything."
John smiled as he lowered his head towards hers once more. "Neither would I, angel. I love you."
"I love you too."
Laying in each other's arms they watched the sunrise cherishing each moment and realizing how lucky they were.
