The End Of The War

The musty and forbidding smell of death lingers in the air, mingling with that of blood, some dried and some still fresh which has been spilled, causing the passing of many wizards and witches, spattered all over the battle field. The Final Battle is, at last, over and the Light Side has finally won. Harry Potter has triumphed over the Dark Lord for good but few of us go unharmed. Bless him, Boy-Who-Lived. I look around me and I can see the bodies of the fallen, many from the Dark Side but many from the Light Side as well.

Families of victims mourn and grieve over their loved one's lifeless body, shedding their hot tears of hurt and sorrow, saying their final goodbyes to those whom they had spent their lives with.

I wish that I had someone who would keep me company while I spend my last moments in this world but I have no one as I do not have a family as of yet. I never will but I am very happy for those who have found the person who mattered most to them in their life and settled down with them. They are very lucky people and it is sad that they have to leave their spouse and their children behind in this mortal world.

As for the Dark Side, no one has anybody to grieve over them as if one of them were on the Dark Lord's side, the rest of their family were too. The only purebloods left are the Weasleys, who miraculously have survived but Bill and Ronald left with severe injuries. However, perhaps both the Magical World and the Muggle World are better off without them.

Ah, I can see Harry Potter now, I suppose Madam Pomfrey must have worked her wonders. He is leaning over the ones with minor injuries and using a simple healing charm. Bless him, bless him. So young, yet so powerful, it is no easy feat conquering the Dark Lord. Most get killed within a metre of him.

He leans over the pretty girl called Hermione and lifts her upright. She was probably unconscious but has awoken now. I am extremely glad that the young Golden Trio do not have to enter the World of the Dead as of yet. They have their entire lives in front of them and I am sure that they will do more great things even though the Dark Lord has been defeated.

I am glad that I was raised by a Light family. Even if we were outnumbered, we had the ever famous Harry Potter on our side. Anybody who challenges him is a fool. Such power has never been seen before. I wish the Trio good luck in all their future endeavours.

It is, however, ironic that the Dark Side should kill their enemies, yet the Light Side does the same as well. We are complete opposites and none of us are anything like those on the Dark Side, yet because of one halfblood's wish to rid the world of the likes of himself and other mudbloods and muggles, we are forced to mercilessly kill those against us, regardless of the fact that they too, are our magical brethren. Only the fittest can survive in this war-torn world of magic.

It is so ironic that magic can be used to do so much good when used by those of the Light Side, to heal the painful wounds of the good people who have been injured. Yet, it is used to do so much evil when used by the Dark Side, to kill, to hurt, to cause pain beyond belief.

It is such a shame that it is only when I am dying on the battle field, that I realize this information. I will never be able to pass it down to my 'future children', thanks to the Dark Lord.

I let out my last breath and close my eyes calmly, the Boy-Who-Lived has triumphed. I will rest in peace because the magical world is finally at peace.

Goodbye…
