I don't own them, Scifi does. I'm just borrowing them for while and promise to give them back when I'm done, though I might just keep Rodney and Ronan for little longer ;-)

Cute and... Harmless?

"The animal looked cute and harmless, right up until the moment it tried to gnaw McKay's arm off. After that, it all kind of got hazy between the P90 fire, McKay's screaming, Teyla's screaming, Ronan's screaming, well, more like roaring and my screaming...well, yelling."
Colonel Sam Carter stared at Lt. Colonel John Sheppard and then blinked. "Excuse me?"
Sheppard rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly and looked at the floor. Suddenly, looking for all the world like the kid who got caught with his hand in the cookie jar.
"Well, it wasn't as bad as it looked," Doctor Jennifer Keller announced. She stopped short, realizing she had just walked into the middle of something. She pulled a face and tried to step back, but Sheppard latched onto her.
"Not as bad as it looked. Great! Then everything's fine. Good. Great. I should probably go write up my report then," he back peddled, looking for opening to make his break, but Carter snapped out of her daze and pinned him with a look.
"Hold on, let me get this straight. McKay got mauled by a--" she stared at him, waiting for him to finish.
He grimaced uncomfortably. "A guinea pig. Well, it looked like a guinea pig. Sort of. Only bigger. And with more teeth. A guinea pig like...thing."
"A guinea pig like...thing," Carter repeated.
"They are called Gorplesnuffles," Teyla said, coming to join them, her hand in a heavy bandage. "They are quite fearsome when they feel threatened."
"Gorplesnuffles?" Carter struggled to keep a straight face, her eyebrows nearly knotting themselves in the effort.
Teyla nodded.
Carter looked at Sheppard and he grimaced. "I liked guinea pig like...thing better. It's easier to pronounce."
Carter just nodded. She took a deep breath to compose herself and turned back to Sheppard. "I look forward to reading your report," she said, turning on her heel and hurrying out.
Sheppard swore he could hear giggles as she left.
