A/N: Hello, my loyal readers. I am super sorry that I haven't posted in a while. So I wrote this short one-shot in honor of thanksgiving. I am working on the next chapter of Frost and Light, it's just taking a while, because you all requested chapters be longer, so it shall be super longer! Also, I'm just getting over learning that I have migraines and TMJ. So, it's hard to look at a computer screen for longer than about 15 minutes, so typing is slow going. I just can't seem to multitask while typing anymore. So, either I have to write it all out previously or I need to have my computer type it for me using software. But good news is that tonight, I should be getting Dragon Naturally speaking, and so, chapters should come out faster. So enjoy this one-shot and happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving: Past and Present

It was one of those days For America. He was thinking about his past, but today his thoughts were on a particular day. It was one of those days that he rarely thought about due to it being in the time that he was with England. For America today was Thanksgiving, and that's where his thoughts were, he was remembering his first thanksgiving.

He remembered the Pilgrims and the Indians, he remembered the food, friendship, family, and fellowship. But most of all, he remembered getting to spend it with Canada and England; his family. He hadn't invited anyone this year; he had made enough food for an army but wasn't expecting any guests.

And that's when the doorbell rang. He yawned and tripped over his own feet in the rush to open the door. He was surprised when he opened it to reveal his friends and family. There was Canada, Japan, North and South Italy, Germany, Prussia, France, and finally England.

"Y-you all came?" to his surprise, England answered, "well, we couldn't just leave you all alone on thanksgiving, even if you are a bloody git." At that, America threw his arms around his older brother's neck.

Soon they all sat down at the table as many conversations took place. To get everyone's attention, America stood up with a glass in his right hand. The sound of a spoon hitting the glass could be heard throughout the room.

All eyes were on America, and then he spoke, "Before we begin, how 'bout we all go around and say one thing that we are thankful for. Since I'm the hero, I'll start!" He then sat down, "I'm thankful for friends and family."

"Well, I'm thankful for wine and my good looks." "I'm thankful that you all get to spend thanksgiving with a country as awesome as I am!" "I am thankful for my good friend Italy." "I guess I'm thankful for tomatoes."

"I'm thankful for pasta!" "I'm thankful for manga and pocky." "I'm thankful that I have such a caring big brother such as Al." And finally, the only one left was England. "Even though Alfred is a stupid git, I'm thankful that he's my little brother."
