The Musings of a Broken Shadow

Shadow just had to wonder: What made the other Links so special?

He had courage, he had power, he had inventive shadow powers…

So then, what made the others so much more powerful than him? Why did they always win, triumphing over him and whoever he was working for at the time?

Then he realized the answer was right there all along.

Teamwork.

All four of them worked together to fight him and his masters.

Who did he have? Who worked with him? The answer: No one.

He had underlings who were too stupid to know the difference between the colored Links.

He had masters who were too stuck up to even THINK about working together with him as equals, and thus they always lost.

Thinking about all this nearly made him want to switch sides.

Almost.

After all, they wouldn't work with him either. He was too dark, too lone wolf for them. After all, he didn't have any teamwork experience.

Stupid forces of Darkness.

Stupid King of Evil.

Stupid Wind Sorcerer.

Stupid Red, Blue, Green.

Stupid Vio…

That brings him to Vio and his betrayal. The one person he felt he could trust, could finally try teamwork with, and he was never actually working with him.

How could he? After all the fun he showed Vio, after showing him his most treasured weakness, after he showed him his true self!

Then again, he was once originally a part of Link after all. He should have known.

But no one wants to believe the worst of someone who had proven loyalty by fighting and beating Green -the leader of the Links- on their order.

Shadow had thought Vio had changed.

Become evil.

Became his friend.

In that order.

But no, it was not to be. Just when Shadow thought he might -might- have fallen in love with Vio, he had broken the Dark Mirror. Set it up to look like a dumb Stalfos had done it. Lied to Shadow, and shown no remorse whatsoever.

Not that Shadow would have believed it if he had, but it's the principle of the thing.

So now, stuck once again in the Dark world, Shadow decided he wasn't going to work for anyone this time. He wasn't going to let Link split into four anymore using that cursed sword.

Wasn't going to let Vio be created again…

No. This time, Shadow was going to change.

He wasn't going to be Shadow anymore.

He wasn't going to fail anymore.

He was going to gain vengeance against his Light World counterpart.

He was going to become the fabled Dark.

And this time, no one was going to stand in his way.
