Newt Scamander stared in awe as a blue box appeared in the Hufflepuff common room. A tall man with bright eyes and dark hair exited the box as if it were the most natural action in the world.
"Where is everyone?" the man asked casually.
"I-I'm the only one left," replied Newt. "The Hogwarts express left this morning, but I missed it. I was in the forest documenting an unknown species of Cornish pixies."
"Smart young lad, are ya then? How old did you say were?"
Newt held out his hand. "Newt Scamander, seventeen years old."
The man shook his hand. "Tell me, Newt, how did you go about finding those pixies?"
"Well sir, I'm a Hufflepuff, you see. I'm a particularly good finder."
"Excellent! Truly excellent! We'd best be off then."
"Off to where?"
"Hm, that's a good question, but I'm afraid it's one I don't know the answer to. Hop in the tardis and we'll find out." The man entered the blue box.
Out of curiosity and a thirst for adventure, Newt followed him.
Strange, he thought. The blue box, or the tardis, as he calls it, is bigger on the inside.
"What's your name?"
"I'm the Doctor."
"Doctor Who?"
"Just...the doctor."
And they departed, off to adventures in time and space.
