Betty always shared the pressure of her parents with Polly. They kept up with their studies together, went on diets and jogged together, it was easier doing it together. But then Polly got was sent away and her parents refused to speak about her. So now Betty works twice as hard. Jogs by herself, rarely eats, and spends all her free time with school work.

As much as Betty loved Archie, she never knew how he never noticed what was going on with her. He only saw her as the perfect, nice, girl next door. Which, was what Betty was going for. Perfection.

Veronica was completely oblivious, moving to town in the middle of Betty's struggles. So she would believe that Betty was just like that.

But then there was Jughead. Though they weren't the best of friends in their youth, Jughead watched her grow up through everything. He saw how she barely ate her lunch, never finished her milkshake at pops, or how she worked out in the gym after school everyday. No matter how much he tried though, he could never solve the puzzle that was Betty Cooper.

Until she invited him to work at the blue and gold.

They became close very fast. She opened up to him easily,

"My whole family is crazy. My dad is never home and my mom is a control freak. Ever since Polly left they have been on my back about everything I do. My grades, fitness, diet. I can't escape them."

Jughead couldn't relate to her. His parents were the complete opposite. His mom and sister left, while his dad became a drunk.

Even through their differences, their relationship soon escalated and soon enough they were inseparable. Even simple touches were enough to calm Betty's panic attacks or soothe Jug's loneliness. It was the best time of Betty's life.

It was late one night, but the two kids in love were wide awake snuggling and watching a movie. Though I'm sure anyone could guess what hormonal teenagers would rather be doing.

Solving a murder case.
