Hermione POV
She wished it had never come to this.
She wasn't supposed to feel like this about him, her worst enemy.
But she couldn't help but notice how he changed; he was not the person that everyone assumed him to be. He was so much more, he was brave, and smart, and sweet. He couldn't possibly be the one responsible for this horrific scene.
Draco POV
There was so much blood, it stained his pale skin and his grey eyes shone with terror.
He didn't mean for it to happen, he didn't expect that the Sectumspempra curse would really do so much damage.
I keep holding onto you
But I can't bring you back to life
Sing the anthem of the angels
Then say the last goodbye
As he watched the blood pool around his feet he knew that there was no way back from this, he would be accused of trying to murder his favorite teacher, Severus Snape. But the way it turned out, he really was just so infuriated. Everyone wanted him to do the Dark Lord's bidding and be the one to kill Albus Dumbledore. But he couldn't tear his soul apart for that monster, he didn't want to become like Lord Voldemort himself.
Cold light above us
Hope fills the heart and fades away
Skin white as winter
As the sky returns to gray
He knew that his soul was already in dire jeopardy, He knew he couldn't undo the damage. As he watched his only confidant bleed on the marble floor of the girl's bathroom he couldn't fathom the torment that would ensue if he just left him there.
He bent down and started to try to stop the bleeding, and that was when the worst happened. Hermione Granger walked through the door, looked at him, and looked at Professor Snape covered in blood right under his fingertips.
He couldn't blame her for her reaction but he really didn't expect her to curse him. He watched on motionless as she attempted to stop the blood that was flowing rapidly onto her school uniform but there was so much, there was no possible way Snape could've survived.
You're dead alive, you're dead alive
You're dead alive, you're dead alive
And when he took his last breath, Draco knew he would have the death of Severus Snape on his shoulders forever.
As Hermione stood up with tears in her eyes and blood covering most of her skin, she realized that she may have been wrong about Draco Malfoy, and that she never should have fallen in love with him.
