I haven't written something in a long time and for some reason this came to me now so I just had to write it. It's a little one-shot with a lot of mystery.
Disclaimer: I own nothing except the plot and the laptop I used to type this in. :)
Her eyes stared at the floor as she walked the halls of Horace Mantis High. She couldn't believe what was happening to her, and she didn't want to. She sighed, wishing that it will all just go away with a blink of an eye, but it didn't. If only there was someone to make the pain go away, to wipe away her tears, to tell her it will all be okay. But then again she didn't feel like talking to someone at that moment. Which is why she went into the atrium, to find some peace and quiet only those crystal walls could provide. Maybe it was all for the best, maybe this is how things are supposed to be. Yet deep down she new that wasn't true, that it couldn't be. She sat there, staring at the floor yet again, not knowing what to do, who to reach out to. Suddenly, she felt the presence of someone who sat next to her in the bench. She tensed up, not knowing who this mysterious stranger was, but couldn't help but feel somehow safe with this stranger by her side.
'I don't know what happened, and I don't really care. I just wanted you to know that I'll always be there for you no matter what' He spoke softly, lending a comfortable shoulder which is just what she needed at the moment.
She couldn't help but close her eyes and let the tears fall as she leaned against his shoulder. She knew exactly who he was, and she was grateful for it. He was always by her side, always there whenever she needed him to be. Always a gentleman, because he and his brothers were raised that way.
And he couldn't help but embrace her at the moment, because there was nothing more hurtful than the sight of that incredible girl crying her eyes out in his arms. They had known each other for some time now and he had come to care deeply for her. He didn't know what was happening at the moment and would find out later. But right now, he just wanted her to stop crying, to bring a smile on her face.
'Thank you' she mumbled, sniffling as the tears seemed to stop.
Slowly, he made her look at him in the eyes, giving her his best smile. 'Anytime' He said before she wrapped herself around him so tightly it looked like her life depended on it. She knew at that moment that she could always count on him, that he would always be by her side no matter what, that she mattered. And that was all she could ever hope for. She let go, smiling up at him with the brightest smile she had and he smiled too, while his fingers found her tears and dried them up.
He stood up, picking up his school bag and turned to her with a smile. He reached out his hand to her, waiting for her to take it. She slowly reached for it, standing up to meet him. He opened the door and both left the atrium, hand in hand, to conquer the world one step at a time.
I would love to know what you thought fellow readers! Also, maybe you have an opinion on who is 'he' and 'she'
