Naminé, I like the name although I would have prefered something more like Rose. Oh well I guess that I'll have to stick with the name that my parents gave me. Oh yeah my parents their names were Shay and William. My mother, Shay, was taller than most women and very skinny. Her hair was the most beautiful shade of golden blonde. Her face was flawless with no freckles, blemishes, or scars. Her eyes were as blue as a perfect summer day. My father on the other hand was still tall, but he wasn't very skinny. Well come to think about it he wasn't really fat either. All of his fat came from his muscle, but people say it's from his brain. His face was very rough and coarse and he always kept it clean shaven. His eyes were a pale green almost like the color of a rosebud before it blooms. His hair was jet black and very short.

My father owned this company in the city that publishes/edits books. My father really loved to read and write so this company was just perfect for him. My mother didn't have a paying job, she stayed at home and did typical housework and she also really loved to paint pictures of the landscape around our house. All of our spare

rooms were filled with my father's books or my mother's artwork, so that's what I grew up with, books and artwork. I sometimes thought that I was the luckiest girl in the world. That was until that horrible day came.

One day when I was about seven years old, my mother asked me to go into the city and but some things from the store. I loved going into the city because of all the lights, sounds, people, smells, and all the stores along the street. My father's favorite place in the city besides his own company, was the little café that was on the corner of the street. It had a small store inside of it, but when you found everything you were looking for you wouldn't think that it was so small. The other part was the actual Café. The owner was named Xio and he was the nicest man, besides my father, that had ever met. I went into the café and bough what I needed (which was there of course) and headed back to my house.

On the way back home, I noticed that the forest was deathly quiet. The birds weren't singing, the squirels weren't chattering, and all the animals were still. This worried me, the animals were never this quiet, not even at night. As I got closer to home, I smelled something familiar, something that I only smelled on the camping trips in the woods. The smell was smoke. I rushed back home, only when I got there, there wasn't a home to go back to. I quickly searched the debris for my parents when I noticed my jewelry box under the sink. It was heavier than usual so I looked inside of it. There was a bag and a note from my mother. Here's what it said:

Dearest Naminé,

They are coming, I can hear their footsteps of evil from a mile away. I am writing you this because I know that I won't be here when you get back, but I you to know that you need not worry about your father and me, these people won't kill us so we'll still be alive. I left you some gold and some of the things that I wanted to give you, but given the current circumstances, I'll give them to you now. You need to be strong Naminé, I have given you a picture of your grandparents so you can find them. They live in the village hidden in the leaves. Your father and I love you more than you can imagine. My only regret is that I couldn't see you grow up to become a beautiful young woman. Please be good Naminé I love you so very much.

With love
