The rifle feels cold. Despite having a 3 centimeter insulated glove between my hand and the blaster, I still felt the cold metal. Crouched behind a T-17 airspeeder, better known as a Snowspeeder, I glanced around the cargo area. I searched for any Snowtroopers that were trying to stop my escape. I took my hat off my head so I could hear better. At first, nothing. Then I heard something along the lines of, "Make another sweep of the medbay," as well as the sound of footsteps on the hard-packed snow. Almost instantly, I put my hat back on and moved to the side of the speeder. I slung my rifle over my shoulder and pulled out my pistol.

As I waited for the trooper's heads to poke out, I heard a beep come from the speeder. Not loud enough for the bucketheads (Snowtroopers) to notice, but enough for me to hear through the hat. Ten minutes, I thought, ten minutes before I can meet up with my men and leave this icy planet. The Imperials locked down the speeder, so I needed to let a virus break through the firewall and unlock it.

"New orders," I heard a buckethead order from around a corner, "We are to make a sweep of the hangar to check on the speeder." I heard the echoey footsteps march closer. I moved behind some crates for cover. I crouched and took aim at the direction I heard the footsteps come from. I switched my pistol from kill to stun and closed my left eye. As the first bucket came into view, I pulled the icy trigger. A glowing blue circle of plasma shot out of my blaster and hit the bucket right in the head. As I hit him, he let out a [Wilhelm] scream and made a satisfying thunk as his helmet hit the ice. "Set blasters to stun," I heard the head bucket order, "Capture the rebel at all costs!" Blue circles and red bolts of plasma suddenly whizzed by my head as Snowtroopers rushed out. I set my gun to fully automatic and blasted away at them. As I fired, a lucky bucket hit my shoulder. I cringed in pain but continued firing at them.

Then I heard two beeps from the speeder. Five minutes till I get out of here. Then my blaster ran out of gas. I ducked and tried to get it to work, but to no avail.

"Stand up, hands behind your head!" a buckethead shouted at me. I holstered my pistol, slowly got up and put my hands behind my head. "Good. This way." I started to follow the Snowtrooper. I looked at the damage I had caused. Two buckets stunned. As I followed the Snowtrooper, another bucket cried out in pain that instant. When I looked at him, I saw a fresh black scorch mark on his back with smoke rising from it. When I realized what had just happened, I pulled out my shoto (short lightsaber) and, with its two foot long, green blade, sliced the remaining bucket's blasters in half.

"Now who's surrendering?" I remarked. I looked around and saw her. The rebel that saved me. A girl, about my age, who was in a standard arctic uniform, brown hair and eyes, armed with a smoking E-11 blaster, the same used by the Snowtroopers. "Thanks," I said to her, "you saved my life there."

"No problem. Now let's get out of this frozen waste." she said. I nodded and punched the two remaining bucket's lights out.
