Changing My Life Around.

I went on a date the other day,

She laughed when I offered to pay,

She smiled and said of course I can,

It's been a while since she met a gentleman,

I'd often wondered how much better it could be,

But that all paled when I sunk to one knee,

With a shaking hand I held the box,

Yes she cried before I asked and snatched away the box,

She and her friends loved the ring,

And I couldn't believe how much joy she could bring,

My family and friends were over the moon,

That I had finally found a girl to swoon,

And as she walked down the aisle,

I could have sworn the distance was a mile,

For it took so long,

Till the end of the bridal song,

For her to join me at my side,

She looked so beautiful but she needn't have tried,

For to me she was always stunning,

Even at two in the morning!

We said the lines,

I of course stumbled over mine,

The I do's came and went,

And I was starting to feel a little spent,

The priest at last declared us wed,

That's right I growled it's time for bed,

She laughed and said to wait till we sealed the deal,

First we had to suffer through speeches and the meal,

The night passed in a happy flurry,

Even though we were in quite a hurry,

And then speeches came,

Ken stood up and stuttered my name,

Said he was so proud,

Of how much I turned my life around,

They couldn't believe how far I'd come

Yolie cried out that she couldn't wait to be a god mum,

They laughed and toasted us,

The atmosphere had infused a happy buzz,

Since that night twenty years have gone,

And we've become Dad and Mom,

I'm glad that I didn't die back then,

For we would never have created them,

I will be old when I die,

I will still be a happy guy,

And I'll still be free,

But under the wrinkles I'll still be me.

A/N Right if you don't understand the bits where I imply he nearly died, is based on a poem I haven't posted yet but will do, but that one is a bit too sad.

Always appreciate reviews, and any characters you want written about I shall try! A/N
