"Kankuro... Why do you wear that?"
"What?" Kankuro jumped at the sudden question. He looked down at his younger sibling with questioning eyes.
"That." Gaara said, pointing at the purple paint on his older brothers face. It had always made him wonder why he would bother putting it on every morning. It fascinated him in some way, and he didn't know why.
"Uhm... Why the sudden question?"Kankuro seemed to look awkward. As if something wasn't right but he wasn't going to say anything.
Gaara simply just shrugged and looked at the older sibling with the same expressionless face.
"Well, you see.. You know how I'm a puppet master?"
Gaara nodded slowly at the simple question, wondering why his brother was suddenly treating him like a child. He was no child, and certainly not a fool.
"Well, It's.. Erm.. What's a good way to put this... Its what the old puppeteer guys- you know, the ones who put on the shows... Would wear.. That and I think it looks cool..."
"Oh... Okay... Then why do you have cat ears?" Gaara asked, he all of a sudden found himself full of questions.
'Damnit Temari! Why'd you have to leave me alone to watch him...' Thought Kankuro. "Bonding time" she called it, in other words.. Temari had buggered off and left Kankuro alone in the house with Gaara. "They're not cat ears..." Kankuro stated simply and went to walk away.
"That's not what Temari said, or, what I heard her say..." Gaara said quietly, but loud enough for Kankuro to hear. And hear it he did, Gaara watched as Kankuro turned slowly around and looked at him.
"What exactly did she say..."

Temari unlocked the door and heard it creek open. 'I've got to tell Kankuro about that squeaking.. It's driving me nuts' she thought as she screamed his name, hoping he would come to find her, but he didn't, which she found extremely odd. She slowly and cautiously walked into the dining room and saw both or her brothers sitting at the table. "What are you lot doing?" She asked, walking more comfortably into the room. She had nothing to fear from her brothers-
"KANKY-KUN-KITTY-FACE!" She heard Kankuro scream at her.. 'how does he know...' she thought to herself.
Before she knew it he was out of his seat and in her face, looking at her with a serious and disapproving look. "WHY WOULD YOU CALL ME THAT?" She could tell he was seriously pissed off. "How the hell did you even find out!" She spat back at him, then saw Gaara look down at the floor. It then clicked, Gaara must have told.
"It was just a joke okay! No need to take such an offence to it." She said as she walked into the kitchen and sat her bag on the table.
"NO WONDER PEOPLE HAVE BEEN LAUGHING AT ME ON THE STREETS!" Kankuro yelled as he stormed off to his room.
Temari looked at Gaara with a scowl. He returned her look with his same emotionless one.

Oh... The stuff she had to put up with in this house...
