A/N: A sequel to my love's, WookieCookie, story Angel's Demon, and written / posted with her permission. I know my writing pales in comparison to hers, but I did my best.
Warnings: Shounen-ai, mentions of war and character death. Turn back if that's not your thing.
Pairing: Luka Crosszeria/Zero Kiryu.
I hope everyone who enjoyed the prequel will like my take on this.

"Hey, Luka?"
"What is it?"
The prince looks at the gun in his hand; Bloody Rose, a gift from his father before the kingdom fell to ruins by a neighboring enemy. "Will I ever see my father or mother again?"
Luka says nothing as he looks out towards the land that was his home since he betrayed his King. He wants to be honest with his charge, but he doesn't know how to say the words. Instead, he rests his hand on Zero's slight trembling shoulder and says, "E qedd fyjyl dyojy uai."
Zero's lips perk upwards to form a tiny smile. "I will never leave you."
Luka nods and runs his hand gently across the face he's watched mature and grow to the beautiful man that his master became. Smiling a little, he takes Zero's hand and moves them out of the danger zone, doing his duty not because his human King demanded it when his son was a young babe, but because he pledged himself to Zero the moment he took him in his arms.

Luka takes Zero to a place where war is unknown, where all you see is crisp flowers, green grass, and a cottage overlooking the ocean. This was his sanctuary from the world and it feels right to share it with the person who means the world to him.
"This is… beautiful," Zero murmurs, eyes widening as awe fills them. He kneels down to smell the flowers, moves his fingers over the blades of grass, and spreads his arms, falling backwards on the soft earth. "Is this where you would go when you'd disappear for a day or two?"
"Yes," Luka answers simply as he sits next to Zero, long fingernails teasing strands of silver hair with a gentle, affectionate touch. The demon knows he can never have more than this, no matter the feelings he possesses, so he settles for these brief touches that soothe the ache in his soul. "Are you all right, tu tozsyl?" (My master.)
Uyz, xis E qezw uai qaidkf's podd ty tozsyl." (Yes, but I wish you wouldn't call me master.)
Luka raises an eyebrow; the one sign that shows he's confused. "It is the truth," he says after a beat of silence, moving his hand, but pauses when Zero grips it. "Is something wrong?"
"No," Zero shakes his head, raising the demon's hand to plant a butterfly kiss against the knuckles. "I wish that we are equals in all senses of the word, not master and servant."
Luka's eyes widen a little. "What are you-…."
"I love you, Luka Crosszeria."
Zero seals his words with a gentle kiss; not demanding, simply showing the affection he kept hidden so well from the opast. Luka freezes, unsure of what to do, then his hands naturally find their way to his charge's head, around his waist, and they stay that way for what feels like forever.
Zero pulls away after a moment, smiling and his cheeks flushed a delicate pink. Luka returns the gesture and takes his hand, pressing a kiss similar to the one his master—no—his lover placed upon his own and whispers, "E qedd fyjyl xyslou uai." (I will never betray you.)
Fin.
