So, this is the first SwanQueen story I've ever written. I'm sorry for eventual spelling/grammar mistakes, I only have betas for my OutlawQueen stories.
But yeah, I've been listening way too much Adele for my own sake, and the song that this fic is named after gave me the inspiration for this (really) short one shot.
I hope you like it. You guys can find me on twitter ( trinadrcker) if you're too lazy to review here. LOL
I won't hold you guys anymore. Go read.
Emma always loved photography. She always loved the possibility of recording a single moment forever. She never went out of her home without a camera, and when the cellphones first started having cameras on them, she didn't think twice about buying the best one she could buy. Regina was particularly annoyed that Emma always stopped their road trips to take a pic of the highway, or when she took her phone in hand to take a pic of her, or even one of Henry.
And here she is, years later, looking at old photographs with her granddaughter, Grace, sitting on the rug of the living room of the mayoral mansion, since now Henry is the mayor, clearly his mother's child.
"Grandma, when was this one taken?" Grace asks, an old picture on her tiny hands. When Emma takes the picture, her eyes full of tears, she remembers that day as clear as water can be. The first day of their honeymoon.
"Would you please put the camera down, Emma?" Regina says, slightly annoyed, but still happy. After all, she really thinks that the blonde has a talent for these kinds of things.
"Please, Regina, let me photograph my beautiful wife in this light. You look so beautiful, my love" Emma says, a silly grin plastered on her face. She loves this woman more than anything.
"Okay, but I'm not going to smile. Deal with it" the brunette says, but not compelling to her words as she can't help but smile at the 'madly in love' face that Emma has on display for everyone to see.
"Come on Regina, just a smile! We're in Rome, realizing your dream, traveling through Europe in our honeymoon. Just a tiny smile? Please? For me?"
Regina can't help but smile.
A huge grin.
While looking at Emma, her eyes full of love. And shining because of the tears she's trying not to shed.
And Emma takes the picture.
"Granny, why you're crying?" Grace asks, worried about her grandmother.
"Nothing baby, I just miss your grandma Regina really much" She says, looking at the picture once more. Regina, so young, so happy, so full of life…
So…
Regina.
"Oh granny, so you wanna go and see her?" Grace says, a huge grin on her face.
"you wanna go with me, kid?" the woman says, looking at the mop of blonde curls on that adorns Grace's head bounce just like the movements the little girl is doing
"of course! I always like to talk with Granny Gina even if it's just with a stone"
"Her grave, Grace, not just a stone."
"sorry granny." The girl says, looking down.
"that's okay honey. So, let's go?"
