The trees moaned around me and I heard a commotion on the North edge of the forest which meant I needed to be there. In actuality the Uruk-hai weren't cutting trees they were fighting one another which made it easy for me. As I started killing them one by one with my arrows a troop of men on horses came riding in and killing all the orcs. I figured they could handle it and as I put away my bow I saw two small people running into the woods followed by an orc. They started climbing a tree and the orc came and grabbed one of them by the ankles. By then I had already jumped out of the tree and ran to the orc, I then stabbed him and as he fell the boy scrambled back up in the tree. "Little ones, please come down, I will not hurt you." I said as I put my sword in its sheath. "How do we know you won't?" One of the little voices asked "Trust me; I will even protect you if you wish." I said and one of them peaking his head down "Why? We don't even know you."
"My name is Eruva; I am protector of Fargorn forest and any who resides in it." I said and I heard two whispering voices arguing whether or not to come down. Moments later one of the boys swung down and hung on the branch "I'm Peregirn Took but everyone calls me Pippin." Pippin said "And I'm Meriadoc Brandybuck," said the other boy swinging down and both of them dropped down, "but everyone calls me Merry." "Hello Merry and Pippin," I said but paused as I looked down on the two blonde, shaggy-headed, boys that were half my height, "how old are you?" They laughed at me "We're not children, we're Hobbits." Merry said "Hobbits;" I echoed back curiously, "what are Hobbits?" "Well Hobbits are, er…" Pippin started but then looked at Merry who simply looked back at him, silent. I gave a chuckle "Alright, we will focus on this matter later but I am curious of how you got here."
"We were traveling with our companions until we were picked up by this band of Orcs and taken here." Merry said and I knelt down "Ah, and I can see they did not treat you with kindness." I said looking at his head. "Come, we must move away from the battle." I said and gestured for them to move on as I followed behind.
