Alice paced back and forth on the snowy streets of Flanoir. She had been reassigned to the area when she failed to capture Colettie in Asgard and was defeated by Martmart and her little pet in the Dynsasty Ruins. Word from the espianoge unit said that her and some companions were headed towards the Temple of Ice to retrieve another Centurions core. Glacus or whatever. Alice could care less about what their names were. All she knew is that one more core meant one more step towards her ultimate power. It was a simple mission, really. It was almost insulting. Here she was, captain of the combat unit and the most feared member of the Vanguard, and yet she was sent on a wild chase after some whiney little daddys girl that couldn't even hold her own against Alice. She always had to have her little pet defend her. Alice clenched her jaw. Richter knew that it grated on her patience. All she had to do was wait for the word and off to the Temple of Ice she would be. She'd take care of that little thorn in her side once and for all.
"Lady Alice!" A bird-masked man ran up to her and fell to one knee before her. "We've received word that Marta and her companions have set out for the Temple of Ice again."
"I see." Alice said absentmindedly and observed her fingernails. "I guess I should get going then, too."
Alice strut over to the rotound creature fastened to the railing of the inn by a rope. Aramis cooed gently and wiggled his ears around at her. Alice gave the monster a few quick pets before climbing up onto his saddle. The masked Vanguard soldier cut the rope loose for her and Aramis began the gentle ascent. Carried on the cool winter breeze, he floated gently through the air and in the direction of the temple.
It was clouded over and snowing. Alice curled up on the saddle and hugged her knees. She was shivering. She knew she should have brought a jacket.
