Hey guys! This is my first oneshot, and I want it to be good. I know I wrote another story, but as I said in profile, sometimes I need time to be inspired, you know? Either way, I hope you like this harry potter oneshot! It's your average draco-luna interaction, but I though it was cute, so here you go! Read and review, if you have the time.

The first time he ever truly saw Luna Evangeline Lovegood had been down in Diagon Alley, on a particularly slow day, back in the summer before his seventh year. He had been humming silently, minding his own business, when all of a sudden who should he run into but a girl. Not just any girl but Loony Lovegood, the reclusive hermit of the class. She was a tad bit shorter that him, with long, wavy, pale blonde hair, so much like his own, and those bright, lily-green eyes. And when he said run into, he literally meant, she'd run into him. She'd been looking behind her, her long hair whipping behind, and he'd been delving deeper and deeper into his novel, when all of a sudden, SMACK! The girl was sent sprawling back, her elbows stopping her from truly injuring herself, and her hair spread out behind her, a silvery gold maze into the frosty white snow. Draco staggered back a couple steps before regaining his composure. He looked down at Loony as if she were some truly repulsive species of a bug. Luna was facing away from him, her head twisted back as she looked at the sky, where dozens of tiny white snowflakes fell.

Draco scowled. The baby Muggle-lover was probably going to start crying now. Well, screw her. Draco wouldn't help her in the least bit! He turned his back to her and was about to continue on her way when he heard it. The…laughter. It started out low and tinkling, and built into a full ringing burst of giddiness. Draco's face twisted and he spun back. Luna –ahem, Loony- Lovegood was laughing. Actually and truly laughing. Her head was shaking and every thing. Her hair spilled down her back in tides as Draco regarded her almost cautiously. Had the fall done something to her head? God forbid whatever actually utilized parts of her brain were messed up even farther. Now that would be sad. But there she sat, her eyes closed, as she tried to hold back her waves of mirth. Pansy would've been devastated, She would made him carry her back home. Luna simply shifted to her knees as she gathered he spilt books. She chuckled melodically under her breath. Draco wiped the smile off his face before anyone saw it, but he still felt it. Warm and surprising on his otherwise-scowling face. Luna stood up, her eyes scanning the ground for something unseen.

Unseen to her. Draco saw it, though. There. Underneath the fern. Drat it, she'd never see it! Should he help her…? It looked rather important, a gilded metallic-looking box with a star inscribed on the side. Luna whipped out her wand and muttered under her breath, still not looking at him, "Accio Rosalind Lovegood's last heirloom." Draco watched the box glow silver faintly, but it dimmed, not even approaching Luna. Luna bit her lower lip, and Draco saw her eyes redden.

Draco's resolve weakened. He walked over to the fern discreetly, while she was busy searching underneath a particularly bushy evergreen. He silently kicked it out, and using his wand, he hovered it to a space right behind the fern, where she would definitely see it. He frowned as he walked away. What on earth had propelled him to help Looney Lovegood, air-headed Ravenclaw extraordinaire? He heard a giddy squeal sound behind him, signaling that she had in fact found it. He hid a smile as he walked away. Finito.
